Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has made a small but meaningful revision to its official poster, adding the names of Colleen O'Shaughnessey and Tika Sumpter. The original version of the Sonic 2 poster featured the names of James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba and Jim Carrey. Many fans took issue with the fact that while Schwartz and Elba -- who voice Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna, respectively -- were named on the poster, O'Shaughnessey's name was excluded, despite her voicing another main character in the form of Miles "Tails" Prower (who she has voiced in other media for many years).RELATED: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Is 'Chock Full' of Video Game Easter EggsThis was viewed as yet another example of Hollywood treating career voice actors unfairly in comparison to live-action actors/celebrities. (After all, even Schwartz -- who voices Sonic himself -- was snubbed by the original poster for the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which only named Marsden and Carrey.) Similarly, Sumpter went unnamed on the original Sonic 2 poster, despite it featuring her character, Maddie Wachowski. Much to the delight of social media, however, the revised Sonic 2 poster names Marsden, Schwartz, Sumpter, O'Shaughnessey, Elba and Carrey, in that order.

O'Shaughnessey has been the voice of Tails in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series since 2o14, voicing the character in Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom, Sonic Forces, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and Team Sonic Racing, not to mention making guest appearances as the character in Cookie Run: Kingdom and Lego Dimensions. O'Shaughnessey also voiced Tails in the animated series Sonic Boom, plus the Sonic crossover episode of OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes.

O'Shaughnessey made a cameo as the voice of Tails in the post-credits scene of 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog before signing on to reprise her role in the upcoming sequel. Additionally, Schwartz reprises his role as Sonic, Marsden reprises his role as Tom Wachowski, Carrey reprises his role as Doctor Robotnik and Sumpter reprises her role as Maddie. Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Lee Majdoub, Tom Butler and Elfina Luk all return from the first film as well. Meanwhile, Elba joins the fray to take on the role of Knuckles. The Suicide Squad star isn't the only newcomer to the franchise, however, with Sonic 2 also adding Shemar Moore in an undisclosed role.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 releases in theaters in the United States on Friday, April 8.
