The release date for Blu-ray and 4K copies of Solo: A Star Wars Story has reportedly been revealed.
Per The Digital Bits' retail sources, the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD releases of Solo: A Star Wars Story are set to hit shelves on September 25, exactly four months out from the film's theatrical release. A release date for the digital copy of the film was not announced; however, based on current industry practices, a digital copy will likely release a few weeks prior to the hard copies.
Details about the Blu-ray and 4K releases of Solo began circulating last month, with Best Buy releasing a first look at the 4K Ultra HD Steelbook, shining the spotlight on a yet-undamaged Millennium Falcon, while Target revealed that its exclusive Blu-ray bundle will include a miniature Millennium Falcon figure.
Solo: A Star Wars Story has been a box office disappointment for Disney and Lucasfilm with a worldwide gross of only $379.9 million against its $275 million budget, ranking it as the lowest earning Star Wars film to date.
Directed by Ron Howard from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke as Qi’ra and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. They’re joined by Thandie Newton as Val, Phoebe Waller-Bridge L3-37, Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos and Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett. The film is now in theaters.
