The impending release of Solo: A Star Wars Story means that we're in the home stretch for small teases of new information in the film's marketing campaign. In the latest TV spot, we see a little more of the gangster Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany) and learn that Chewbacca has always been fiercely competitive.

Dryden Vos meets with Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) and his assembled crew of outlaws willing to take on a high-stakes heist. He tells Han Solo he'd need "an incredibly fast ship and a brilliant pilot" to which Han proclaims they already have the pilot, he just needs a co-pilot. Enter Chewie (Joonas Suotamo), his soon-to-be best friend.

Looks like we'll get the full story of how this famous duo kick-started their lifelong friendship. The video proves we at least see that Chewie has never like losing. Mimicking the scene in the first Star Wars film where R2-D2 plays Chewie in a game of Dejarik, Tobias attempts to teach the rules to the short-tempered Wookiee. Displeased with the way the game is going, Chewbacca tries to knock the pieces off the board only to be told they're holograms.

For a film that's likely going to challenge a few things we've come to expect from the beloved characters — Han seems much more chipper, for one — it's nice to see Chewbacca has always had his competitive nature. Here's hoping they find a way to insert "Let the Wookiee win" somewhere into the film.

Directed by Ron Howard from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke as Qi’ra and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. They’re joined by Thandie Newton as Val, Phoebe Waller-Bridge as L3-37, Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos and Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett. The film opens May 25.
