Solipsist Films Sinks Its Teeth into Top Cow's In the Dust

Stephen L'Heureux's Solipsist Films has acquired the rights to In the Dust, the forthcoming vampire graphic novel from Top Cow, Heat Vision reports.

Created by George Mahaffey and Christian Duce, the book is set against the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, as a government agent investigates the disappearance of entire families from Midwestern small towns during immense dust storms known as "black blizzards." He discovers an army of vampires is using the storms as cover to ravage the land, and is forced to team up with the remnants of Al Capone's gang to prevent the undead from reaching Chicago. So ... 1930 Days of Night?

Mahaffey will write the adaptation, with L'Heureux and Top Cow's Matt Hawkins and Marc Silvestri producing. The 165-page graphic novel is set for release next year.

L'Heureux recently set up another vampire comic, Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman's Undying Love, with Benderspink at Warner Bros.
