Ackles, who starred alongside actors Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins for fifteen years on the show Supernatural, has recently been making a splash as Soldier Boy on Prime Video's hit show The Boys. Fans of both series have spoken out to point out how eager they would be to have the actor host SNL for the first time. "NBC this is exactly the guy you want to host your show!" One user said, "[He's] an amazing actor who deserves more mainstream recognition! He’s also a great singer, and just had a song go viral on TikTok!"

In addition to acting on screen, Ackles has a long history as a voice actor for multiple DC Comics adaptations including Batman: Under the Red Hood where he voiced Jason Todd aka The Red Hood. Some users were quick to point out that Ackles is not only a talented actor but he's a skilled singer and dancer as well. The fact that he could step in, not only as a host, but as a musical guest, was mentioned by multiple fans. "He can burst into song any moment. You all will not want to [sic] the night to end," one user said.

This is not the first time that Ackles' fans have taken to Twitter to share their love of the actor. After the completion of The Boys Season 3, he was praised for his ability to take on the role of Super Boy, who is a parody of Marvel's Captain America. Many users brought up his previous part as Dean Winchester, highlighting the striking differences between the two characters. The transition from protective and selfless older brother Dean into a character that personifies toxic masculinity and narcissism earned the approval of the show's audience.

While the third season of The Boys may have come to an end, Ackles still has other projects in development. The actor revealed in an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, that he was working on an unnamed Batman project where he would be playing the Caped Crusader himself. "Yep. In fact, I just spent about three and a half hours in the studio yesterday doing, uh, doing Batman. That was a big deal. I don't want to drop that ball."

Jensen Ackles is expected to return for Season 4 of The Boys in 2023 on Amazon Prime Video.
