10 The Snyder Cut Is The Best: It Represents A Triumph Of The Fans

Wonder Woman leads the attack on Steppenwolf in a rematch in the Snyder Cut.

Tragedy forced Snyder to leave Justice League and the resulting film was widely panned by critics and fans alike. Those same fans started to vociferously demand the Snyder Cut, which at the time didn't actually exist because he never got to finish the movie. However, the demands would keep up and Warner Brothers would cave to the pressure and let Snyder finish the movie.

This was only possible because the fans themselves spoke out and it is their triumph as much as it's Snyder's. While not everything about it pleased everyone, the fact that the masses were able to sway a multi-billion dollar entertainment conglomerate speaks volumes about what this movie meant to people.

9 Endgame Is The Best: All Of The Memes Are Truly Entertaining

Old Steve Rogers in Avengers: Endgame

Memes are a huge part of the culture nowadays and Endgame proved to be fertile ground for them. From the Professor Hulk taco memes to using the return of the dead heroes as a template to all of the Thanos ones to old man Steve Rogers, Endgame was full memeworthy scenes. This showed just what kind of cultural impact that Endgame had.

Endgame found its place not only as the highest-grossing superhero film of all time but proved that it had a valuable second life outside the multiplex. It's a cultural touchstone in a way that only highest-grossing films can be, an experience that millions of fans around the world have shared and the memes prove it.

One of Zack Snyder's strong suits are his action scenes. As a director, he knows how to set up a great action scene and while his reliance on slow-mo has been mocked for years, he still creates some striking sequences. The Snyder Cut is full of amazing fight scenes and that went a long way towards making fans love it.

While some of the fight scenes were in the prior version of the film, the new ones were just as good as the old ones, showing off Snyder's eye for action and creating epic fight sequences, like only he could pull off.

7 Endgame Is The Best: Thanos Is A Better Villain

An Avengers: Endgame still shows Thanos begin to snap his fingers with the nano gauntlet

While it's arguable if Thanos is better than Darkseid in the comics, there's no doubt he's better in the movies. A lot of this has to do with how much Thanos was built up in comparison to Darkseid and the larger role he played in Endgame compared to Darkseid in the Snyder Cut. Even Steppenwolf, who is in much more of the Snyder Cut, can't match how great Thanos is.

One of the biggest problems that many viewers had with the DCEU in comparison to the MCU is the way it seemingly rushed to get to Justice League. The MCU gave non-comic fans the illusion of being comic accurate by including some small bits of Marvel lore and comic-accurate costumes. However, the Snyder Cut did an amazing job of setting up the DCEU with all kinds of great DC lore.

From introducing the Green Lantern Corps, the Anti-Life Equation, and the forces of Apokolips, the Snyder Cut did an amazing job of setting up things for the future, lore that would have made much more of a difference if the cut had been originally released.

Between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, a year went by and in that time people, fans could not wait for Endgame to drop. There were multiple fan theories on just what the movie was going to be like and the Internet was abuzz with speculation on the film. Endgame represented something special to the fans of the film.

It's hard for a movie to keep up that much hype for a year but Endgame accomplished it. Every leak or info drop was met by voracious fans with almost religious significance and people lost their minds when the trailer dropped in December 2018. Few movies had the impact of Endgame and that's before it even came out.

The DCEU had a much tougher time than the MCU gaining fans. Part of this was that the MCU came first and clannish devotion is a big part of fandoms and the other part is that Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice weren't exactly well-received. Later movies like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam gained fans but even then, the DCEU was DOA.

Love him or hate him, Zack Snyder had a vision for Justice League, one that he was never able to fulfill until the fans fought for him to finally make his movie the way he wanted to. The Snyder Cut is one artist's vision for a movie, undiluted by studio politics or anything else and that's something that should be lauded, love it or hate it.

As great as Endgame and the MCU are, they are very much corporate products made to appeal to the widest audience. The Snyder Cut is unconcerned with that, instead representing Snyder's vision for the Justice League and where the story should go. That makes it a very special movie.

1 Endgame Is The Best: It Didn't Need Any New Cuts To Be Considered A Good Movie

Iron Snaps Gauntlet in Endgame

While the Snyder Cut is different from Justice League in a lot of key ways, they are still the same movie with the same plot and characters. In order to be considered a good movie, Justice League needed the Snyder Cut. Endgame, on the other hand, didn't need a new cut to considered great; it already was.

Endgame was a triumph from the beginning; fans loved it immediately and it was a cultural phenomenon. It was the highest-grossing movie until Titanic's re-release because of the dearth of new films in the theaters. It didn't need any embellishing or extras- it was already what it was meant to be.
