Sam Claflin, who played Snow White's love interest in 2012's "Snow White and the Huntsman," will return for Universal Pictures sequel "The Huntsman."

TheWrap reports he'll appear in a supporting role as William, the childhood best friend whose kiss revived Snow White in the first film. However, Kristin Stewart won't appear in the followup, which centers on how the lives of the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and Ravenna (Charlize Theron) intersected prior to their entanglement with Snow White.

Rob Brydon (“Cinderella”), Alexandra Roach (“The Iron Lady”) and Sheridan Smith (“Mrs. Biggs”) join returning cast member Nick Frost as dwarves in the sequel, which also features Emily Blunt as Ravenna’s evil sister the Snow Queen and Jessica Chastain in an undisclosed role.

Claflin, who made his acting debut in the 2010 television miniseries "The Pillars of the Earth," also starred in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "The Hunger Games" series.

Opening April 22, 2016, "The Huntsman" is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan from a script written by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos and revised by Frank Darabont.
