Photos from the set of Disney's live-action remake of Snow White have surfaced, revealing a first look at star Rachel Zegler in costume as the titular princess.

The three images were posted on the @CosmicMMedia Twitter, all of them featuring Zegler with a good view of her cartoon-accurate dress. Like that of the classic animated Disney film, the dress has a vivid yellow skirt and a blue corset top with puffed sleeves slashed in red, although unlike the original these are full-length. Other aspects of Zegler's costume aren't apparent from the behind-the-scenes photos, as her feet are in modern boots and there are several styling clips still in her hair.

Snow White completed filming in April, with Zegler's co-star Gal Gadot celebrating the end by posting a photo of herself and members of the film's crew to her Instagram. "Last day on Snow White with the best team ever!!!!" Gadot captioned the image, adding the hashtag #EVILQUEEN as a nod to the role she plays as the film's villain. Gadot, who is best known for playing the DC Extended Universe's Wonder Woman, previously expressed her love for her part in Snow White, pointing out the character's status in Disney's first full-length animated film. "I get to sing and I get to dance and I get to play the villain, which is something that I've never done before -- and it's the first Disney villain ever," she said.

Zegler made her cinematic debut as Maria, the romantic lead in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of West Side Story. She's also set to star in the DCEU, with a role in the Shazam! sequel, Fury of the Gods. West Side Story is currently streaming on Disney+ and HBO Max.

Upon her casting as Disney's live-action Snow White, Zegler faced some racist backlash, which she addressed forthrightly in an interview in January. "Never in a million years did I imagine that this would be a possibility for me," said the actor. "You don't normally see Snow Whites that are of Latin descent... Even though Snow White is really a big deal in Spanish-speaking countries."

Zegler continued, "... You don't particularly see people who look like me or are me playing roles like that. When it was announced, it was a huge thing that was trending on Twitter for days, because all of the people were angry." She showed a positive and determined perspective, pointing out that, "at the end of the day, I have a job to do that I'm really excited to do. I get to be a Latina princess."

Joining Gadot and Zegler is actor Andrew Burnap as an original character named Jonathan. Disney's live-action Snow White does not yet have a release date.
