Snoop Dogg To Star In Bluesman Biopic About Fillmore Slim

Snoop Dogg always brings something to the table when he sets himself to acting. It's pretty much the same thing every time, but that's okay. He's Snoop. That said, it's good to see that he'll soon be stretching himself.

Snoop is all set to step into the shoes of someone else -- not a caricature of his real-life persona or a character inspired by the same, but a completely different man -- in a biopic that follows blues singer Fillmore Slim, Entertainment Weekly reports. Slim has had some interesting times, earning nicknames like "The West Coast Godfather of the Game" and "The Pope of Pimping" when he worked as a San Francisco pimp as far back as the 1960s. His first album wasn't released until 1987, shortly after the bluesman finished serving five years in prison. He ended up there after being nabbed for a probation violation, caught trying to buy a forged passport so he could make it to a performance he booked in France.

Yeah, this is going to be a fun one.
