Saturday Night Live will air a rerun of Chadwick Boseman's appearance as host, in honor of the actor, who died recently after a long battle with colon cancer.

The episode originally aired in 2018, following the release of Boseman's widely-successful film Black Panther, but before the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War. After news of the actors death was released, a sketch from his SNL episode -- in which Boseman appears as T'Challa, playing Black Jeopardy -- went viral, receiving more than 24 million views.

Boseman died on Aug. 28 from colon cancer. According to the announcement, Boseman died at home with his wife and family present. He was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 but it had progressed into stage IV. The actor continued to appear in major Marvel Cinematic Universe films while receiving treatment such as surgery and chemotherapy. It was recently reported that alongside Boseman's fans, co-stars and figures in the actor's professional life, such as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, were kept unaware. The actor had been confident that he would recover and would be well enough to film the Black Panther sequel.

Several networks and theaters have acted to pay tribute to Boseman, by airing Black Panther or by screening re-releases of 42. Many of his co-stars have also expressed their grief and paid their respects on social media and interviews.
