G.I. Joe Origins: Snake Eyes was originally set to release on Oct. 23, 2020, but Paramount has pushed the release date back a full year due to COVID-19. The film is now set to hit theaters (hopefully) by Oct. 22, 2021.

Snake Eyes is the only wide entry theatrical release slated for that October weekend, with both Universal/Blumhouse/Miramax's Halloween Kills and 20th Century Studio's The Last Duel (directed by Ridley Scott) set to debut the weekend before on Oct. 15, according to Deadline.

Hasbro CEO and chairman Brian Goldner confirmed the release set-back in July, but stated they were still "working out the specifics with Paramount." Entertainment One’s total revenue has fallen $132.2 million since the pandemic began.

G.I. Joe Origins: Snake Eyes follows the origin story of Snake Eyes, starring Henry Golding as the famous G.I. Joe ninja commando. The film is meant to be both a third installment as well as a reboot of the G.I. Joe film series, the first of which debuted in 2009. The most recent film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, premiered in 2013.
