While Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins will show the early years of the silent ninja, the Paramount Pictures film will also reveal the backstory between Cobra's Baroness and G.I. Joe's Scarlett.

Comic-Con@Home 2021 hosted a panel titled "Unmasking Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins," which featured the cast from Snake Eyes discussing certain aspects of the film. We learn one of the more fascinating aspects about Baroness (Úrsula Corberó) is her relationship with Scarlett (Samara Weaving). Corberó teased how Snake Eyes takes their rivalry to a whole new level.

"They've known each other for a long time," Corberó said. "They used to be close friends at school, but they drifted apart and ended up on opposite sides of the law. I think you guys are going to love it."

Earlier in the Comic-Con panel, Weaving also discussed Scarlett's rivalry with Baroness. "Scarlett and the Baroness... well they have a complicated history," Weaving said. "They were quite close, but ultimately disagreed on fundamental moral ideas."

The G.I. Joe franchise will get a reboot with the release of Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. Along with seeing the birth of the brotherly bond between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, fans now know the film will also address the shared history between G.I. Joe and Cobra's top women.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins makes its way to theaters on July 23.
