Smallville, Ronin, Iron Man: March 20th Comic Reel Wrap

SMALLVILLE

Kryptonsite has fresh spoilers from producer Al Gough’s TV Guide commentary, as well as the title of the May 1st episode on their spoilers page.

RONIN

According to the Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Joby Harold will write an adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel. Sylvain White is attached to direct, while Gianni Nunnari, one of the producers behind the Miller adaptation 300, and his Hollywood Gang are producing.

IRON MAN

You can get a look at new action figures based on the movie at Marvelous News.

BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT

Superhero Hype has the press release about the voice cast for the animated feature, which of course includes “Batman: The Animated Series” veteran Kevin Conroy as well as Kevin Michael Richardson, Jason Marsden and others.

STREET FIGHTER

According to Reuters, “Boomtown” actor Neil McDonough has been cast as M. Bison in the Chun Li-focused film starring “Smallville” actress Kristin Kreuk.

JUSTICE LEAGUE

Oh, it’s big news now — Variety has more about director George Miller’s fight to take DC’s pantheon to Australia. “That shows how rigid the thinking is here in Australia; that’s working to a paradigm that’s 30 years old and brought down the Australian film industry,” Miller said. “That thinking dooms us to making small films that not even Australians want to see. I’m dancing as fast as I can with the studio to have them hang on here. We’re going to appeal (if the FFC doesn’t grant the certificate) because it’s not just ‘Justice League’ — we have other films with Australian directors.”

SUPERHERO MOVIE

Collider has four clips from the comic book themed parody (most of which are from the commercials on television).

SPEED RACER

There’s four new posters for the fast paced flick at Yahoo! Movies.

STRANDED

An article at ICv2 notes that the Sci Fi Network has ordered a two-hour pilot for a new series based on a Mike Carey-penned Virgin Comics series that launched in January.

I CAN’T WORK UNDER THESE CONDITIONS

We can’t do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos — they’re all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, “What do you mean your sister’s dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?” The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web’s rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we’ve got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, we’ve got fresh comics reviews online (as well as a second anniversary message) and [tagline due to return with new WGA drafts shortly].
