Laura Vandervoort -- who played Kara Zor-El/Supergirl on the Superman prequel series Smallville -- has suited up as a very different character for Halloween this year: the Clown Princess of Crime, Harley Quinn.Vandervoort took to social media to share photos of her Harley Quinn Halloween costume, which is inspired by Margot Robbie's version of the character from the 2016 film Suicide Squad. "Staying in character all night was such a blast, however irritating for everyone else," she wrote. "Thanks for the amazing Halloween party [Lance Bass]."RELATED: Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum Stage Impromptu Smallville Reunion

Vandervoort joined the cast of Smallville as Supergirl -- aka Kara Zor-El or Kara Kent -- in 2007, appearing as a main cast member in Season 7 and as a guest star in Seasons 8 and 10. She has since remained relatively close to the character, appearing in three episodes of The CW's Supergirl as Indigo/Brainiac 8.

Meanwhile, after making her debut as Harley Quinn in 2016's Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie is set to reprise her role in Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which is due to hit theaters in February 2020. Robbie will also return for The Suicide Squad, director James Gunn's upcoming reboot slated for release in August 2021.
