Smallville, Heroes, Iron Man: November 5th Comic Reel Wrap

The news is coming in from all over the place. Starting with the grand poobah of "Smallville" sites, Kryptonsite contributes screen captures from the promo for next week's episode "Wrath" and production stills from the November 15th episode "Blue." Their bitter arch rivals at Devoted to Smallville fired back with an inundation of screen captures from last week's ep "Lara." Meanwhile, Hollywood North Insider posted spy video from the Canadian set and finally the network posted a spoilery "director's cut" from next week's episode, which of course ended up on YouTube ...

Think the Hollywood conflicts can't reach into your living room and affect you? A story in TV Guide says that the December 3rd episode is getting an "alternate ending" filmed in case it has to serve as a season finale. The strike started as of midnight Monday morning, with the Writers Guild of America and all their signatories instituting a work stoppage for financial reasons.

There's a new international trailer, and where else would it end up? YouTube, of course (what, no embedding?).

Actor Heath Ledger told the New York Times that the Joker is keeping him up at night. "Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger said. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing. The actor also showed the Times reporter his "Joker diary" filled with "images and thoughts helpful to the Joker back story, like a list of things the Joker would find funny (AIDS is one of them)." Ooh.

There are plans to film a hugely noisy scene for the Bat-sequel, while another scene had to be cancelled (watch out for the minor spoiler) due to pollution.

IGN has posted a report on their set visit with the cast and crew, while the movie website was updated with conceptual artwork.

The wrap party for the gamma-powered reboot was an earth-shaking affair, according to a flyer snagged by Superhero Hype. Hulk boogie!

Actors Sam Elliot and Jennifer Connelly waxed nostalgic to MTV about not getting another go round at the Green. "That's a little weird [to see someone take your part]," Elliot said. "But I happen to be a huge Edward Norton fan, and I think heÕs a great choice for the Hulk. I'm sure heÕll be incredible."

The official website has been updated with Zack Snyder showing off the production offices in a new blog, while the fansite Watchmen Comic Movie has posted early location photos of Hollis Mason's shop in New Westminster, also revealing some plot details.

Finally, if you've got the skills, it appears that the company Intelligent Creatures is hiring a CG Supervisor for the Toronto-based production.

Ooh, are those fresh spoilers at The Scene about the Hugh Jackman-fueled spinoff? They are? Cool!

We can't do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos -- they're all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, "What do you mean your sister's dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?" The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web's rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we've got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and "enough talk -- let's go make with the 'biff' and the 'pow' already."
