Smallville, Boondocks, A History of Violence, Conan: October 19th Comic Reel Wrap

They've got some great screen captures of Lois making out with a certain would-be Atlantean monarch over at Heroic History on Film. Meanwhile, Kryptonsite has more spoilers about what you can expect to vex Clark Kent this season (look for episode seven).

Toon Zone has an early review of the new Cartoon Network animated series, and the somewhat spoiler-esaue prognosis is good.

Ready for a new clip from the film? The movie's marketing company was kind enough to post one entitled "Cheerleader."

According to the Hollywood Reporter (subscription required), Ron Perlman ("Hellboy," "Teen Titans") has signed on to voice Conan of Cimmeria for Swordplay Entertainment's "Conan: Red Nails," the first animated film featuring the mythic barbarian. Marg Helgenberger ("CSI") and James Marsden ("X-Men" films, Superman Returns) also are joining the voice cast, which includes Clancy Brown ("Superman: The Animated Series"), Cree Summer ("A Different World") and Mark Hamill ("Star Wars"). The film will be directed by Victor Dal Chele, with a screenplay by Steve Gold and Timothy Dolan. Gold and Jonathan Bogner are producing. Swordplay's David R. Schwarcz and Patricia Gillum are executive producing along with Peter Sederowsky and Fredrik Malmberg of Paradox Entertainment, owners of the Conan property. Nicholas Temple is the film's co-executive producer.

Despite events in real life, the controversial bombing scene from the Alan Moore/David Lloyd graphic novel will remain at the film's climax, according to what producer Joel Silver told the Sydney Morning Herald. "It has nothing to do with what happened," Silver said.

Wholly unrelated note: Starting at 10AM today, the karaoke company I work for is starting an effort to break a world record for longest continuous karaoke. From today until Sunday, for 24 hours a day, there will be non-stop karaoke at Palos Verdes Bowl in Torrance, CA, 24600 Crenshaw Boulevard. Your humble Comic Reel reporter will be doing late Wednesday and Thursday sessions, as well as a Friday session from 9PM-1:30AM. I have no idea how crazy this will be, but I'm anxious to find out.

Anyway, here's where you get in on the action. Did you see a link we didn't catch? Have you snuck into a closed movie set, and have inside data? Maybe your cousin is dating somebody who knows something, and they had to tell you? Whatever it is, we wanna know it all -- fire off an email and let us know whether you want your name used or your contributions to geekdom to go down anonymously. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is novelist/reviewer/karaoke host/all-around lunatic Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and that's what I'm talkin' about!
