Smallville, Blade: Trinity, Batman Begins, X-Men 3: The Comic Reel Wrap for August 4

Kryptonsite reports that actor Michael Ironside will be joining the show as General Sam Lane, father to one future investigative reporter you may have heard of. The actor has some experience standing in the way of a Kryptonian after giving voice to Darkseid on both the "Justice League" and "Superman" animated series. Ironside will make his first appearance in the season's second episode, "Gone."

Curvy actress Jessica Biel may have gotten a little smaller of a check than originally planned. She told Sci Fi Wire that she got so good shooting a longbow for her role as a vampire hunter that she accidentally shot out a $300,000 camera lens with an arrow in a stunt gone awry. "The archery training was some of the hardest training I did," Biel said. "It was muscles that you don't even know you use in your back. You have to be really relaxed and really focused. It was hard. It was really, really difficult."

Writer/director David Goyer explained the accident. "We've got this camera aimed at her," he said. "She had learned how to shoot the arrow very well. She was 30 or 40 feet away, but she was also up in the air three stories. And all the crew were behind safety [glass]. The only thing that was uncovered was literally a 2-inch-by-2-inch thing right in front of the lens. We said, 'Aim for the camera!' And BAM! Right down the lens, into the housing and into the camera. Destroyed a $300,000 camera. We caught it on film, and we're going to put it on the DVD. She shoots, looks badass and everything like that. There's this pause, and then she's like, 'YEAAAAH!' It was just right in the lens! It embedded like 8 inches."

Silly Warner Brothers -- they can't hide the Batmobile from the likes of fans! Just to prove the point, Superhero Hype has photos of the monster machine under wraps in the section of Chi-town known as Lower Wacker. The same page offers set reports galore.

Speaking of photos, this foreign site (native to somebody, we couldn't find a "translate" button) has the first looks at Ken Watanabe as Ra's Al Ghul.

You can now confirm that we'll be looking for a new Ororo -- Halle berry told the BBC "After playing Storm in 'X-Men' and now Catwoman, I think my comic book hero days are probably over. That's unless I was lucky enough to play Catwoman again. I would love to do that. But other than that, I think I've pretty much done it."
