As CBR confirmed this past Friday, Marvel's announcement for "Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" has arrived, this time with longtime Spider-Man scribe Dan Slott and artist Adam Kubert at the wheel, EW reports.

"Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows," which was among the first of several retro teaser images released last fall, caused a storm with its nostalgic throwback to Mary Jane and Peter Parker's marriage before the events of "One More Day." Now, Slott has returned the status quo for his upcoming "Secret Wars" series.

"Spider-Man, when you get down to it, is a character about responsibility. And the second he's a father and a husband -- he has a responsibility to share his powers with the world, but suddenly he has two people that are his whole world. That changes everything, the complete dynamic of what it means to have great power and great responsibility," Slott said in a statement. "You need to be there for your daughter, you need there for your wife -- in a way that he hasn't had to be there for anyone else. And that drastically changes what it means to be Spider-Man."

Though "Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" will be new-reader friendly, Slott revealed this series will be important in the long run for the character. "What I can tell you? No matter who or what or how Spider-Man comics will be made in the future -- elements from this story will go on into the next incarnation," Slott explained. "Elements. Of this. Yes."

"Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" hits retailers on June 3.
