The kids from Netflix’s Stranger Things have been through enough already. After traipsing through the Upside Down for weeks in the show's first season, they’ve finally slain the Demogorgon and liberated their friend from the hellish otherworldly dimension. Some much needed rest is clearly in order. Or is it?

A new mashup video by YouTube user Josh Nitsche argues that sleep is for the weak – because that’s where Freddy Krueger hides. The video cuts together scenes from numerous iconic horror movies to imagine a world in which the Stranger Things kids are constantly beset by a Cabin in the Woods-level of supernatural nightmares.

The theme is appropriate. Stranger Things does, after all, bank on a certain level of viewer nostalgia for ‘80s horror and monster movies. Many of the movies Stranger Things drew inspiration from are represented here, including the torture-obsessed Cenobites of the Hellraiser series and the fear-eating clown from the It miniseries.

Debuting on the Netflix streaming service on October 27, the second season of Stranger Things is a production of 21 Laps Entertainment directed by Matt Duffer and Duffer and starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery.
