Things are about to get tricky at the home of King Kong.

That's because today The Hollywood Reporter brings word that fan-favorite Loki actor Tom Hiddleston has signed on to star in Skull Island, the Legendary Pictures prequel to the classic monster film.

Announced at Comic-Con International, the film will be set on the titular birthplace of Kong and a host of other gigantic beasts. Hiddleston's role in the story remains a mystery.

Based on an original script by Max Borenstein, the prequel will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts who previously helmed the indie The Kings of Summer. Although produced by Legendary, Skull Island will be distributed by Kong rights holder Universal Studios. It is slated to open Nov. 4, 2016.
