The first entry in Marvel's Storm & the Brotherhood of Mutants, a three-issue limited series tying into the Sins of Sinister event, sees the death of a major X-Man, Sunspot.

In Marvel's Sins of Sinister #1 one-shot, Mister Sinister escaped from Krakoa's Pit and created a brand-new reality he has complete and total control over. While Mister Sinister has control over nearly all mutants within this reality due to some gene-related manipulation, Storm is one of the few who managed to evade Mister Sinister's clutches thanks to some help from Destiny. She retreated to Arakko only to find that Mister Sinister sent an army of Chimera (mutants that are artificially created to have two X-genes) to completely destroy the planet.

In a preview provided by Marvel for Storm & the Brotherhood of Mutants #1 from writer Al Ewing and artist Paco Medina, Storm further explains how Arakko was destroyed by Mister Sinister's plots. "They blamed the attack on the Skrulls -- propaganda for further conflicts on Sinister's mad horizon," she narrates. "Augmented troops, they claimed, like Super-Skrulls of old. But we knew them for what they are -- his Chimeras. While we'd planned, so had he -- and he had left nothing to chance." Storm continues to explain how Arakko did everything in its power to defend itself; however, the end of the preview sees her holding a fallen and seemingly deceased Sunspot.

Storm & the Brotherhood of Mutants Is Temporarily Replacing X-Men Red

Storm & the Brotherhood of Mutants is a three-issue miniseries temporarily replacing X-Men Red for Marvel's Sins of Sinister. The publisher also has two other limited series, Immoral X-Men and Nightcrawlers, stepping in for Immortal X-Men and Legion of X until the event concludes with a final one-shot, Sins of Sinister: Dominion. The limited series will explore what Mister Sinister's reality looks like 10, 100 and 1,000 years into the future from when he initially created it.
