Images of Simu Liu, the star of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, posing for a series of stock photos have set social media ablaze.Twitter uses have gathered in their droves to celebrate the rise of Liu. Before he was Marvel's master of martial arts there was a time when Liu was more known for his ability to candidly smile and look engaged by whatever was on a computer screen. Liu is no stranger to fans dredging up his stock photo past. The actor has poked fun at his early career, jokingly writing, "Legitimately wondering if I am the greatest stock photo model of all time. Totally unrelated note, please stop buying these photos." Liu also explained that he was only paid $120 to appear in the stock images and he only took the job because he was in credit card debt.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Starring Simu Liu as the titular hero, the blockbuster debuted with impressive box office numbers during its opening weekend. The film debuted to universal praise from both fans and critics alike, boasting a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which also stars Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen and Tony Leung, is in theatres now.
