Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu seems concerned for the well-being of Earth's Mightiest Heroes after catching a glimpse at Jonathan Majors sans shirt.
Liu recently took to Twitter to share a picture of Majors, who plays long-time Marvel Comics supervillain Kang the Conqueror, standing shirtless on a beach. Majors' muscles are on full display, and Liu seems more than a little shocked to discover that, in addition to being one of Marvel's most frightening villains, Kang is also incredibly ripped. As he puts it, "the Avengers are straight up effed."
Majors made his first appearance as Kang the Conqueror in the season finale of Loki, where he was introduced as "He Who Remains." In the MCU, Majors is expected to play several different variants of Kang. The version introduced in Loki isn't actually "Kang the Conqueror," but a variant who knew of Kang's plans. While He Who Remains died at the end of Loki's first season, it's clear that it won't be long before the next Kang steps up to follow in his footsteps.
Majors' next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third Ant-Man film. While the eponymous heroes and Majors' villain are the most important characters in Quantumania, director Peyton Reed has suggested that fans might want to keep an eye out for some unannounced MCU cameos.
Liu's first MCU outing was 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. That film acted as an origin story for Shang-Chi, and the hero seems destined to pop up in other projects in the future. At the moment, it's not clear where Shang-Chi is headed next. A sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is in the works, and leaked art for Marvel's Zombies suggests that the hero will appear in that series as well. Whether or not Liu will reprise his role for the animated series isn't exactly clear, but he has confirmed that he will appear in several major upcoming MCU projects in the Multiverse Saga.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is streaming on Disney+. Fans wondering exactly how effed the Avengers are can see Majors as Kang the Conqueror in Loki on Disney+, and they'll get an even closer look at the villain in Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023.
