Fans of The Sims series will most likely remember the second installment as the most detailed. With the many expansion packs, more and more details were added that made The Sims 2 seem like an actual life simulation. With the amount of details in the game, there is a high chance players might have missed some of them.
While players might know about children running out to greet their parents and sliding down spiral staircases, there are a few details that require certain skill levels, hobby interests, and personality traits. These little details make it seem as though the Sims are truly unique from each other.
10 Sims Can Paint Whatever The Player Wants Them To
After Sims make it to level 5 in the creativity skill, they can paint custom paintings. Through the selection, players can choose some of the developer's pets or houses. What players might not know is that they could put their own pictures in for their Sim to paint.
By opening documents and going to the EA Games folder then the Sims 2 folder, players will see a painting folder. Dropping photos into this will allow Sims to paint anything, from creepy scenes to something the player created themselves.
9 Sims Will Get Jittery If They Drink Too Much Coffee
Drinking coffee can raise a Sim's energy level, but it also has another side effect. Too many cups will cause a Sim to have the jitters for a bit. This will even occur if they do another activity, such as watching TV or playing on the computer.
While this might be how real people feel after drinking coffee, it's cool to see there is an effect in the game. No worries though, as a Sim will not face any other issues aside from the jittering.
8 Sims Will Be Given Different Rewards Depending On How Their Date Goes
While Sims are able to go on dates, they will receive a gift depending on how it goes. Having a good date will cause Sims to receive romantic gifts, but a bad date sends a real message. A dream date will cause a bouquet of flowers to appear, a great date will cause a single rose to appear, and a good date will cause Sims to receive a love letter.
On the other hand, Sims ending on a bad date will receive a hate letter. As if that could not get any worse, a horrible date will cause the other Sim to leave a flaming bag of poop on the other's doorstep.
7 Teenage Sims Also Have To Deal With Acne
As if people weren't playing The Sims specifically to forget about their real-world problems, teenage Sims are able to get acne. If a teenage Sim's hygiene goes too low, they risk the chance of developing acne. Luckily there is a way to make sure it goes away quickly.
Besides actually bathing, teenage Sims are able to apply acne cream at any mirror. Nobody will say anything about the acne, but just know it is very noticeable.
6 High Fitness Skill Allows Sims To Do Yoga On Tables
Sims are able to do yoga by themselves, but increasing the body skill offers more options. A Sim will be able to perform yoga on top of coffee tables as well. This will give an impressive sight, as well as causing the Sim to raise their body skill. Even pregnant Sims can take part in this.
This also makes it so that Sims do not lose hygiene any quicker than they normally would. Just make sure no one is watching TV beforehand, as this can cause a Sim to completely block any shows.
5 Sims Will Clean Windows If They Have High Cleanliness
If a Sim has a high neat personality, they will automatically clean windows if left alone. What's fun about this is there is no way for the player to select this option. It does not matter if the Sim is inside or outside their house, they will clean the window.
Sims will also clean the window even if they had already cleaned it. It is a nice difference from sloppy Sims at least, as the house will be completely spotless and the windows are no different.
4 Sims Will Cuddle With Each Other Before Waking Up
For Sims sleeping in the same bed, they will cuddle throughout the night. It's also possible to notice an interaction between the two as they wake up. If their relationship is high enough, they will cuddle as they both wake up.
One will place their head on the other's chest, while the other Sim puts their hand on their head. To view this interaction, both Sims will need to have high energy when they wake up. If not, one Sim will wake up and leave the other in bed.
3 Kids Will Generate Static Electricity On Carpets To Prank Others
If there is a carpet around, children are able to rub their feet on it to make static electricity. Players can select the prank interaction and have the child shock someone. The victim will need to be close to the child, as the static electricity will disappear after some time.
Depending on the relationship, the victim might get angry at the child or laugh it off as the prank it is. This interaction can happen on every carpet, allowing players to annoy their family in a brand new way.
2 Sims Will Have A Breakdown If Their Aspiration Gets Low
If a Sim has their aspiration level go too low, they can suffer from a breakdown. Before it reaches the bottom, a Sim can perform actions depending on what their aspiration is. For instance, if a Sim has fortune they will beg for money on the road and a Sim with family will cradle a sack of flour.
If a Sim does reach the bottom of the bar, they will fall to the ground and a therapist will appear to diagnose them. Completing different wants will cause a Sim to become better, making it so this does not happen again.
1 Graves Take On A New Appearance If A Goal Is Completed
If a Sim dies of old age with platinum aspiration, they will get a unique grave. Sadly this only occurs for old age deaths, as dying other ways with platinum aspiration will cause a grey grave to appear. If the Grim Reaper appears with Hula zombies, players will know they earned the golden gravestone.
The Sim's aspiration will appear on the front, showing that they lived a good life. Completing a Sim's aspiration goal is the best way to earn this stone, as they will permanently have the platinum aspiration.
