The Walking Dead alums Frank Darabont and Jon Bernthal may not be the only zombie-fighting veterans kicking around TNT's period drama pilot L.A. Noir. TVLine reports that Simon Pegg of Shaun of the Dead and Star Trek fame is in talks for an as-yet-unnamed role in the project. Pegg will join Bernthal, Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia and Justified villain Neal McDonough.
Based on John Buntin’s acclaimed 2009 book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City, the show centers on Joe Teague, a fictional cop caught in “the moral gray zone” between police chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen, two very real figures who fought for control of the city in the 1940s and ’50s. Darabont will write and direct the pilot and executive produce the series.
