10 Super-Skrull Is The Leader Of The Shape-Shifting Alien Race
One of Silver Surfer's greatest enemies is Super-Skrull, the military leader of the shape-shifting alien race known as Skrulls. Super-Skrull, whose actual name is Kl'rt, made his comic debut in Fantastic Four #18 – the same franchise that saw the debut of Silver Surfer. As one of the more common cosmic villains in the Marvel universe, Super-Skrull is not exclusive to Silver Surfer as he's regularly encountered heroes like the Fantastic Four and Iron Fist. Still, Surfer and Super-Skrull have had numerous meaningful encounters, like when they had a definitive face-off in Silver Surfer Vol 3 #105.
9 Ronan The Accuser Is Chief Lawmaker For The Kree
Another Fantastic Four villain who eventually faced off with Silver Surfer, Ronan The Accuser made his comic debut in Fantastic Four #65. As a high-ranking member of the Kree military, Ronan is Supreme Accuser of the Kree, which gives him the power to create laws and punish those who break them. Ronan and Silver Surfer have faced off more than a few times, but their most notable fight happened in Silver Surfer Vol 3 #13.
Ronan The Accuser also made his live-action cinematic debut as the primary villain in the Marvel Studios film, Guardians Of The Galaxy.
8 Doctor Doom Is One Of The Most Dangerous Marvel Villains
Since his debut in Fantastic Four #5, Doctor Doom has been one of the most recognizable villains in the Marvel universe. As a powerful villain, Doom has faced all of the most notable Marvel characters, but few can match his power. Silver Surfer is one of those few, and he and Doctor Doom have had multiple memorable fights, each scoring victories against the other. One of their most notable battles happened in Silver Surfer Vol 3 #107 when Doom famously drained a large portion of Surfer's power. Doom also stole Silver Surfer's surfboard in Fantastic Four #57.
7 Morg Took On Four Of Galactus' Heralds At Once
After Nova got expelled from being Herald of Galactus due to lying about the existence of consumable planets, Morg was chosen as the next Herald to roam the stars, looking for planets for Galactus to consume. When Morg first encountered Silver Surfer in Silver Surfer Vol 3 #69, he quickly bested the Surfer in a fight, who even had a backup in the form of Firelord, another former Herald of Galactus.
After realizing that he and Firelord alone were no match for Morg, Silver Surfer recruited other former Heralds of Galactus, like Nova, Terrax, and Air-Walker, and the four defeated Morg, leaving Galactus without a herald.
6 Ego The Living Planet Was Born From A Doomed World
One of the most well-known cosmic villains in the Marvel universe is Ego, The Living Planet. Known initially as Egros, he was transformed into a living planet after a being known as the Stranger combined his physical body with a simultaneously exploding world, which resulted in the birth of Ego. In his comic debut, Thor #132, Ego faced off against Thor after Ego had decided that a victory against Thor would deem him powerful enough to take over the universe. Ego has gone up against the Silver Surfer more than a few times, like when he overwhelmed a team of Surfer and Mantis in Silver Surfer Vol 3 #4.
5 Tyrant Is A Creation Of Galactus
Long considered one of the most powerful (yet underused) villains in the Marvel universe, some theorize that Tyrant is nearly as powerful as Thanos. Tyrant made his comic debut in Silver Surfer Vol 3 #81 as the new, artificial ally of Galactus. As a creation of Galactus, Tyrant is a synthetic tasked with finding planets for Galactus to consume.
However, Galactus found out that his creation was obsessed with power and conquest. So, rather than assisting him in his hunt for sustenance, Galactus and Tyrant engaged in a fight that left galaxies destroyed in its wake.
4 Terrax Was Also A Herald Of Galactus
Originally the dictator of a small country called Lanlak, Terrax The Tamer was chosen as Herald of Galactus after Galactus realized that he needed a herald who had no moral hang-ups about destroying planets. When Galactus discovered Terrax, who was then known as Tyros, he made a deal with the fantastic Four, agreeing to aid them in a fight if they'd go to Tyros' world and subdue him. When Terrax and Silver Surfer eventually met in battle in Fantastic Four #260, Silver Surfer killed Terrax with the power cosmic. Years later, after Terrax was reborn, the two had a rematch in New Warriors #17, where Surfer defeated Terrax again and marooned him on a planet in deep space.
3 Mephisto Is The Lord Of A Hellish Dimension
Due to MCU fans constantly making predictions about his live-action debut, Mephisto is one of the most talked-about Marvel characters right now. Mephisto is a demon who's the lord of a hellish dimension that he refers to as "hades." Consequently, many Marvel readers assume that Mephisto is Marvel's take on the devil. However, Mephisto is not the devil; he's just a demon with a very satanic look.
Mephisto made his comic debut in Silver Surfer #3 as a direct adversary to the Surfer. In this famous issue, Mephisto took notice of Silver Surfer and viewed him as an obstacle to his master plan of taking over humanity. Later in their history, Mephisto got personal with Surfer when he kidnapped Shalla-Bal – Silver Surfer's love interest.

Thanks to many notable appearances, such as being the main villain in Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet event with two significant appearances in the MCU, Thanos is the most well-known villain in the Marvel Universe. Since making his comic debut in Iron Man #55, Thanos has come into conflict with numerous powerful Marvel characters like Drax The Destroyer, Nova, and even the Cosmic Pantheon. Silver Surfer and Thanos famously battled during the storyline titled The Silver Surfer: Rebirth Of Thanos, when Thanos came back from the dead after Mistress Death tasked him with balancing life in the universe.
1 Galactus Created The Silver Surfer
As the creator of Silver Surfer, Galactus is, without a doubt, the greatest enemy Silver Surfer has ever known. Under the hypnotic abilities of Galactus' power cosmic, Silver Surfer spent years wandering the cosmos, sacrificing millions of innocent lives to feed the insane hunger of Galactus. It wasn't until Silver Surfer came to earth and met the Fantastic Four in Fantastic Four #48 (which is also the comic debut of Galactus) that Surfer was able to overcome Galactus' mental hold on him. As he did, a rush of memories came back to Norin Radd, reminding him of all the horrible things he was responsible for as Herald of Galactus.
