In Silver Surfer, by Dan Slott and Mike Allred, Norrin Radd went on several adventures exploring the cosmos. Accompanying The Sentinel of The Spaceways was his stalwart companion, Dawn Greenwood. Dawn was an ordinary young woman who grew up in Anchor Bay, Massachusetts. Dawn's father ran The Greenwood Inn, where she worked and lived for most of her life.

By a stroke of fate, Dawn encountered The Silver Surfer when she was abducted by aliens. After helping The Surfer free her fellow abductees, Dawn realized that she wanted to explore the universe. Leaving with Norrin, Dawn embarked on a number of cosmic adventures. Over time, Norrin and Dawn bonded, developing a romantic relationship with each other. Unfortunately, this love was doomed to end in heartbreaking tragedy.

Leading up to their final adventure, The Silver Surfer and Dawn experienced a great together. Indeed, the two explorers encountered The Queen of Nevers, protected a planet from Galactus, entered intergalactic casinos and even survived the destruction of the multiverse during "Secret Wars." These adventures don't even include their time on Earth, fighting off Nightmare and defending the planet from The Keeper of The Great Truth.

At one point, Dawn even reunited with her estranged mother. Of course, this encounter didn't go very well, and a heartbroken Dawn decided to leave Earth with Norrin. The two abandoned Earth without even saying goodbye. When Dawn finally returned home, she discovered that her father died of a heart attack, shortly after her sister gave birth. A grief-stricken Dawn asked The Surfer to take her to Euphoria, a living planet that induces happiness in others.

After an extended stay on this planet, Dawn finally left with Norrin. However, Dawn had one final request: that the Surfer take them back in time to say goodbye to her father. Agreeing, Norrin used The Power Cosmic to send them into the past. Unfortunately, The Silver Surfer went too far, arriving in a time before The Big Bang.

Once there, the couple encountered Galen, the original form of Galactus. Realizing there was no way back home, Norrin and Dawn decide to live out the rest of their decades in Galactus' universe.

Together, The Surfer and Dawn enjoyed many adventures across this old universe, established a home and ultimately got married. Norrin even altered his appearance so it would seem as though he was aging alongside Dawn. When Dawn became too old to travel, Norrin spent the rest of their days together telling her of his earliest adventures. On her deathbed, Dawn recalled her first meeting with The Silver Surfer.

Alone, Norrin waited until The Big Bang to sneak onto Galen's ship. Transforming Dawn's remains into pure energy, The Silver Surfer survived the transition from one universe to the next. Norrin then fired this bolt of energy at the start of creation, making Dawn the first light of the entire universe.

When The Surfer arrived, however, there were still several millennia until the present day. Norrin lived among the stars, until Dawn's childhood when he traveled back to Earth. Back on Earth, Norrin disguised himself as Norville Rapaport, a regular at The Greenwood Inn. During his visits, Norrin would watch Dawn grow up over time.

Eventually, when The Surfer came to take Dawn across the cosmos, Norrin followed their adventures, reliving these warm memories. Once he witnessed his past self and Dawn travel back in time, The Surfer knew he was back in the present. Norrin then used holo-pods, which he took from Inkandessa 4, to create solid light duplicates of Dawn, her family and himself.

The Surfer left these duplicates to live happily ever after. Meanwhile, Norrin transformed his power cosmic to produce red and black dots, patterned after the dress that Dawn wore. In this way, The Silver Surfer continued his adventures, keeping the love and memories of Dawn Greenwood forever in his heart.
