There are already a number of villains rumored to appear in Sony's Silver & Black, but it looks like there might just be another one more to add to the list, and he's a big one: Norman Osborn.

According to That Hashtag Show, Osborn will appear in Silver & Black, but not in the flesh -- the rumored role is planned to be voice-only. Oscorp will still play a role in the film, with Senior Vice-President Charles Standish acting as "Osborn's messenger and the on-screen face of the company."

As the report notes, choosing to keep Osborn unseen allows Marvel to cast someone in the role at a later date. Character sharing between the two production companies opens up the possibility that Osborn may appear in future MCU storylines.

Currently, Mendel "Gaunt" Stromm, Tarantula, Chameleon and Tombstone are rumored to be making their debuts in the film. Mac Gargan/The Scorpion is also rumored to appear; he played a role in Spider-Man: Homecoming and may be one of the villains Spidey faces off against in the sequel, currently planned for 2019.

Several of those proposed villains have relationships with Osborn in the comics. Stromm, for example, holds a grudge against Osborn as the businessman accused him of embezzling money from Oscorp, an accusation that landed Stromm in prison.

Scorpion, Tombstone and Chameleon were all part of Osborn's Sinister Twelve, with Gargan serving as leader while Osborn was in prison. The storyline featuring the Sinister Twelve sees none other than Black Cat, in partnership with Spider-Man, working to break Osborn out of jail in order to learn the whereabouts of a missing Aunt May.

Not much has been released officially by Sony about the film's plot line, but there have been rumors that the film's plot will consist of Silver Sablinova, a.k.a. Silver Sable, as a bounty hunter working for the U.S. government. She'll have her sights set on Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat, a high-end burglar who has stolen from tons of people who now want to take her down. The film has said to have the vibe of a buddy movie in the vein of Thelma & Louise. Though it stars characters from Marvel's Spider-Man world, the film is not said to be a crossover with the current live-action Spider-Man franchise.
