Cindy Moon is swinging back into comics with a new Silk series coming in March—and Marvel has unveiled the cover and a number of variants for the book.

Written by novelist Maurene Goo (I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Somewhere Only We Know) with art from Takeshi Miyazawa, the new Silk series will explore the intersecting identities of Cindy Moon the reporter and Silk the superhero. Featuring J. Jonah Jameson and his latest media organization, along with a fresh set of mysteries both street-level and supernatural, the series will dive deep into what makes Silk unique.

Along with the announcement of the new series and creative team, Marvel released the cover for the first issue by Stonehouse and a synopsis for the series, along with variant covers by Bengal, Jeehyung Lee and Nayoung Woo. Check them out:

By day, Cindy Moon works as an intrepid reporter for the upstart new media empire, Threats & Menaces, under her old boss, J. Jonah Jameson. By night, she’s Silk, crime fighting super hero! But those worlds are about to collide as an investigation into a series of gangland murders puts Silk and everyone she loves in danger. Who is this powerful new player in New York’s underworld, where did she come from, and what is she doing with that strange cat demon? It will take all of Cindy’s prowess as reporter and hero to find the answers…and stay alive!

“The opportunity to write a Korean-American super hero—a woman, no less—is one that I never thought would come my way,” Goo said of the new series. “I’m so excited to flex this writing muscle and to explore new stories for Silk—a character I love. Her fierceness and loyalty are qualities I understand and relate to, and I hope readers feel the same as she fights new foes and protects old friends.”

The book was originally meant to debut this July before the COVID-19 pandemic pushed things back. The series comes amid rumors of Silk film from Sony that has been in development for years. More recently, Sony revealed it was planning an interconnected group of TV shows similar to Netflix's The Defenders that would unite various Spider-Man heroes, with a Silk series reportedly the first to arrive.

Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Cindy Moon (AKA Silk) debuted in 2014's Amazing Spider-Man #4. She was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave Peter Parker his powers. However, unlike Peter, Cindy spent the next several years of her life secluded in a facility while she learned to control her abilities.
