Marvel Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive look at Silk #1, by Emily Kim, Takeshi Miyazawa, Ian Herring and VC's Ariana Maher. In the preview, Cindy Moon/Silk swings back into action for the first time since her previous series ended late last year and experiences a small time jump.

Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Silk first made a cameo in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man #1 before making her full debut a few months later. Cindy was bit by the same spider that gave Peter Parker/Spider-Man his powers. Her powers are nearly identical to those that Peter has. However, unlike that hero, she was locked inside a bunker to protect her from potential threats. Since her release, Silk has served as an Agent of Atlas and co-founded the Order of the Web. Sony is currently working on a TV series centered on Silk. A version of the character is also said to have already made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

CBR's preview of Silk #1 opens with "three months later," though it's not clear after just what event. After this small time jump, Silk finds herself stopping bank robbers in New York. In the process, she's recorded by a number of different people, including a streamer named Lucas. Silk chastises Lucas for putting himself in danger for social media. While the preview makes clear that social media usage is going to be one of the themes of the series, it does not reveal or hint at what major threat Silk will face this time around.
