Sid Haig, the iconic horror actor from titles such as House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, has died at the age of 80.

Sidney Eddie Mosesian passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Haig's wife, Susan L. Oberg dedicated an Instagram post to his passing. "On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next," she wrote. "He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens."

"He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be," she continued. "He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected."

According to TMZ, Haig was involved in an accident at home. He was transferred to the ICU shortly thereafter. No other details have been confirmed regarding the cause of death.

Haig was best known for his roles in classic horror films, including Captain Spaulding from House of 1000 CorpsesHe was also a musician and film producer. He is succeeded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

The last movie Haig starred in, 3 From Hell, released on September 16.
