The official plot description for Sick reads, "As the pandemic steadily brings the world to a halt, Parker and her best friend Miri decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone—or so they think. Directed by John Hyams (Alone), written by Kevin Williamson (Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer) and Katelyn Crabb, SICK stars Gideon Adlon (Blockers, The Craft: Legacy), Bethlehem Million (And Just Like That), Marc Menchaca (The Outsider, Ozark) and Jane Adams (Twin Peaks, Poltergeist, Hacks). The film is produced by Williamson, Bill Block and Ben Fast.

Kevin Williamson Is Involved With Scream 6

Williamson is known for writing the screenplay for 1996's Scream, which was directed by Wes Craven and starred Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy, Courtney Cox, David Arquette and Drew Barrymore. The film spawned several sequels, including 1997's Scream 2, 2000's Scream 3, 2011's Scream 4 and 2022's Scream. Williamson wrote the screenplay for Scream 2 and Scream 4, while Craven directed Scream 2, Scream 3 and Scream 4. 2022's Scream was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick and directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

Williamson is an executive producer on Scream 6, which is scheduled to release March 10, 2023, and is once again being directed by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett. "I think one of the wonderful things about Scream is there's a different killer in every film," Williamson said of the Scream franchise in a recent interview. "Whereas in Halloween and Friday the 13th there's [recurring villains] Jason Voorhees, there's Michael Myers, there's [Nightmare on Elm Street's] Freddie [Krueger]. They don't go away and Ghostface changes with every movie, and so we have an opportunity to change the motive and change the story, and we can always twist and turn it. And it's set up to be sort of this -- it was meant to be a game-changer all along, so the trick is 'How do we keep game-changing?'"

Sick premieres exclusively on Peacock on Jan. 13, 2023.
