While the Creepshow Season 2 premiere is still over a month away, fans of the acclaimed horror anthology series can celebrate early, with Shudder officially announcing it has renewed the series for a third season.

Shudder confirmed that Creepshow Season 3 is expected to premiere later this year with a six-episode order. The news comes ahead of the Season 2 premiere slated for April 1 on Shudder and AMC+, with production on Season 3 expected to begin right after production on Season 2 wraps.

"During our Season 2 production, Shudder was so pleased with what they were seeing that they asked us to roll right into production on a brand-new third season that will feature some of our most ambitious stories yet," series creator and executive producer Greg Nicotero said. "I'm incredibly thankful to the team at Shudder for the opportunity to continue honoring the genre with more gleefully ghoulish tales over not one, but two new seasons of Creepshow this year."

The announcement comes after Shudder ordered scripts for a potential third season last June, while production on Season 2 was suspended due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Principal photography resumed under heightened health precautions this past September, starting with a holiday special that premiered in December.

Developed for television by Greg Nicotero, Creepshow Season 2 premieres April 1 on Shudder and AMC+.
