Don Cheadle may still have some Marvel Studios movies in his future - Like War Machine won't even cameo in The Avengers, come on - but that hasn't stopped him signing on for his own Showtime drama, House of Lies.
Based on a memoir by comedy writer and former business consultant Martin Kihn, Lies has been adapted into a half-hour comedy series by Matthew Carnahan, previously behind FX's Dirt. The show has been given a pilot commitment by Showtime, with David Nevins, Showtime's entertainment president, apparently awestruck over the casting:
Don Cheadle is one of the great dramatic actors of our generation. He also happens to be an extremely funny man. House of Lies is the perfect show to take advantage of both sides of him. Honestly, I would have been happy just to get his autograph.
