Shonen Jump has traditionally been seen as "boys manga." Most readers expect to see how powered action-filled series like Naruto being published by the company. Every once in a while, a comedy anime like Rosario+Vampure will wiggle at of the magazine, but the core vibes of the magazine are still apparent. It's a bit surprising to fans to find out that there are tons of well-known series that come from Shonen Jump and don't fall into the normal tropes as the popular series. 10 Strawberry 100%

Strawberry 100% is a manga series that debuted in 2002 and finished it's run with a total of nineteen volumes. The series is based around a young man who wants to be a movie director and meets a plethora of interesting women along the way. It is a classic tale of high school love and the indecisiveness that comes with it.

If you are looking for a romance with a cinema-themed backbone, then this is the series for you.

9 Nisekoi

Nisekoi is another shoujo title that debuted in 2011 and finished out with twenty-five books in the series. The story centers around a boy who is the son of a Yakuza leader and made a promise to marry his childhood friend. Similar to Strawberry 100%, the series focuses on an indecisive high school love.

The series does show some elements of the Yakuza tradition, which adds a nice twist to the story.

8 First Love Limited

First Love Limited is a romance manga that takes a different storytelling approach than other series. First Love Limited started in 2007 and ended after just four volumes. The series is a compilation of eight young girls' lives, as told through different short stories. The interesting set-up of the story allows for a fun finale that romance fans will love.

7 Koisome Momiji

Koisome Momiji is another four-volume long series that ran in 2012. The series centers around a fated encounter between two teenagers when a young girl asks to have her picture taken. The boy, Shouta, soon learns that the girl is an actress who is filming a new drama series in his town.

The two begin dating in hopes of the young actress gaining insight for her role; this, of course, leads to an actual relationship starting to develop.

6 Medaka Box

Medaka Box is a bit less about romance and a bit more about fighting over who is the best student council. The series was first published in 2009 and features twenty-two volumes. There are some romance aspects still and the main character Medaka ends up holding a husband finding tournament.

To top it all off there are even 1,000-year-old spirits and the world is under threat of the moon crashing down.

5 Ane Doki

Ane Doki debuted in 2009 and has three volumes. The story centers around a middle school boy named Kouta, who isn't interested in love even when the perfect girls runs into him. In a fun turn of events, the mysterious girl ends up taking care of Kouta when his father decides to leave town.

The story revolves around Kouta slowly falling in love with Natsuki.

4 Pretty Face

Pretty Face is a rom-com that ran in 2003 and was compiled into six manga volumes. After a horrific accident, Randou wakes up to find his face fixed by plastic surgery. The catch is that the doctors made a mistake and reconstructed his face in the likeness of a young girl named Rina. This leads to a string of misunderstandings and complicated romance scenarios.

Most of the comic is based around Randou trying to hide the fact that he is actually a man.

3 I"s

I"S is an older series that debuted in 1997 and ran for twenty volumes. The story is pretty basic and centers around a shy boy who is trying to tell his classmate how he feels. In traditional romantic fashion, things never go as planned, leading to an ongoing string of misunderstandings between the couple.

This manga is a simple series about the chase of love that may be a little too straightforward for modern romance fans.

2 Yuuna and The Haunted Hotspring

Yuuna and The Haunted Hotsprings is the newest series on this list and got an anime quickly after it's debut. The series is ongoing and debuted in 2016. It follows the story of an exorcist named Kogorashi, who ends up living at a haunted inn with a quirky host of characters, including his ghost love interest Yuuna.

The series focuses on Kogorashi and Yuuna's growing relationship as the couple attempts to resolve Yuuna's final wish.

1 Boys Over Flowers

Boys Over Flowers is one of the most surprising series that Shonen Jump has ever run. The series ran for sixteen years starting in 1992 and has twenty-two manga volumes. It was even made into one of the most popular Korean drama series of all time and got a follow-up series in 2015.

The story follows the twisted love between Makino and a group of four boys(F4) who attend a prestigious academy for the rich.
