The Shojo Beat publications are as popular as Shonen Jump publications. While Shonen focuses more on action, though, Shojo Beat likes to take a look at romance and drama series. Sadly, many of these series still aren't popular enough to get anime adaptations, even with their impressive storylines.

Some Shojo Beat series will even skip anime altogether and get turned into a drama series targeted at older women. While drama series are nice, some of the titles from Shojo Beat really need to get their own anime series confirmed. Below is a list of ten fan-favorite series that need to be made into anime as soon as possible.

10 Honey So Sweet

Honey So Sweet is a short eight-volume manga series about romance and friendship. Taiga asks Nao out one day with the intention of marrying her down the road. When Nao excepts, the two begin to grow close and learn that things aren't as they seem. This is your basic but sweet high school romance series.

Honey So Sweet has gotten a drama, but as of right now, there are no plans for an anime adaptation.

9 The Water Dragon's Bride

Water God

This series recently wrapped up publication overseas and is in the perfect spot to have an anime made. The story follows a young girl named Asahi who falls into a lake and is transported back in time. Once there, she is sacrificed to the Water Dragon and earns his protection as she grows up.

The story then jumps to Asahi as an adult, where she begins to get to know both the Water Dragon and her childhood friend even better.

Himari is an orphan that out of the blue, was awarded an estate from her family. There she meets Aoi, a mysterious boy who is forced to guard the house after an accident when he was ten.

7 Happy Marriage!?

Happy Marriage!? is a newer series that revolves around adult characters getting married. Chiwa is a young girl working hard to pay off her dad's debts. As fate would have it, though, Hokuto comes to find Chiwa and then offers to marry her. Hokuto is well-off and agrees to help take care of her and her dad.

Chiwa and Mokoto slowly fall in love with each other over the course of the series. Happy Marriage!? is another manga that got a drama, but hasn't had an anime series.

6 The Heiress And The Chauffer

Instead of having a male character with all of the money, this manga flips those tables. Sayaka is a young beautiful girl engaged against her wishes. Narutaki is a young chauffeur driver who often accompanies Sayaka. Sayaka developed feelings for them, and their secret relationship slowly starts to unfold.

If you love romance stories about the underdog coming out on top, then this is a great choice for an anime you should watch.

5 Demon Love Spell

Demon Love Spell revolves around a young, untalented shrine maiden named Miko. To prove her worth, she finds a succubus and tries to seal him. Instead of him disappearing completely, though, he turns into a mini version of himself, which Miko begins to care for. Sadly Kagura is able to still enter Miko's dreams.

The manga shows Miko slowly falling for the enemy and Kagura learning to be more human.

4 Devil and Her Love Song

Maria is not a typical romance protagonist. Maria is rude, crass, and even ostracizes herself. Her classmates truly believe that she may be the devil because of her cold personality. Maria does possess the ability to see others' faults, which can reveal just what type of people her classmates truly are.

The story follows Maria as she makes friends and falls in love with a quiet young boy.

3 Bloody Mary

This is another romance series about vampires, which may sound a bit boring at first. Mary is a vampire that wants nothing more than to be killed. When he meets Maria, he begs the young exorcist to kill him, which Maria can't. Mary becomes Maria's bodyguard on the stipulation that he will one day be killed.

The two boys grow closer over the course of the series, making it stand out from most Shojo Beat manga.

2 Queen's Quality

Queen's Quality

Fumi is an orphan with amnesia who quickly learns she has a superpower. She is able to enter the minds of others and clean away the negative emotions. This leads her to be taken in by a family that does the same, but Fumi soon learns that she has the power of the Queen, which will let her control minds.

Fumi must learn to help others while not letting her power become exposed to the world.

1 Not Your Idol

Not Your Idol is a darker drama series following the secret life of an idol who was formerly assaulted. Nina is determined to leave her traumatizing life as an idol behind by taking the identity of a boy. It's not long before one of her schoolmates figures out her true identity and a romance starts to bloom.

Not Your Idol is a newer series that would make the perfect choice for a new romance anime.
