Shin Megami Tensei V's release date was mistakenly revealed after the official Japanese website was updated with details about the game's impending launch.

The information, as reported by Persona Central, was presumably posted in anticipation of Nintendo's 2021 E3 Direct on June 15, and was captured prior to its removal 15 minutes later. Given that the information comes from the official Japanese website for the game, it's possible that the release date may be for the Japan release. Previous statement suggest that the game would have a worldwide release, it is likely that November 11 is the current goal for the game's global launch.

In addition to the game's release date, other details surrounding the game's story, characters, world and more were uploaded. "Shin Megami Tensei V combines the unique charm of the series with the high quality visuals of the latest hardware. The game will deliver a new demon experience like never before," read a translation of the Japanese description for the game. The game follows a high school student living an otherwise ordinary life who wanders into another world called "Da'ath," whereupon he fuses with a mysterious man and becomes a "Naobino," a forbidden being.

The world of "Da'ath" is described as a place where the desert is found all over-- with various gods and demons scattered about. There are over 200 demons in the game, some of which will be familiar, with plenty more that are newly drawn by Masayuki Doi, the character designer of the title. The world will be populated with numerous demons as large as mountains and giant birds flying in the sky.

Da'ath is described as an untamed land, under attack by these powerful demons. The protagonist must clear his way through them, by utilizing the power of the demons themselves and building upon the abilities of Naobino in order to pursue "the truth" as he throws himself into a battle between gods and demons. The game has no fixed ending. Instead, it can diverge in many ways depending on the decisions of the player.

Finally, a limited edition of the game was mentioned, though there's no guarantee that the version will be released outside of Japan. The edition will be called the "Forbidden Naobino Box," and is described as condensing the game's charm, "packed with plenty of demons and music that embody Shin Megami Tensei V. It will also include an item resembling the hero Naobino.
