Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to Shelf Porn! Because we love you, today we're presenting Jason's massive collection of original art, graphic novels, toys and much, much more.

If you’d like to see your collection featured here on ROBOT 6, you can find instructions on how to do so at the end of this post.

And now let's hear from Jason ...

*****

My collection takes up a large portion of my house. I live in a small townhouse, and until recently, most of my things were in storage. Now that the kids are out of the house, I'm able to expand.

My kids and I have been going to HeroesCon in Charlotte since 2000. I always pick up artwork when I'm there. It's been a good mixture of original art and prints. I also have a habit of picking up cool tings I see on sale, so most of my collection doesn't focus on a particular character, company or style.

The shelves and walls are also in constant flux. Some of the art in the photos have already been swapped out for things I got at the last convention. Only about a third of by toy/figure collection are on display, so they get swapped out on a regular basis to make it look fresh.

The front hall of my place isn't shown in any of these photos. It's also covered in display items, but not anything geeky.

I also have a lot of stuff at my office, but I'll showcase those at another time.

The living room. The center art over the TV is from my friend Lee Miller. The Avengers print is by George Perez and each of the figures is inked by a different inker. It’s signed by all but one inker and the colorist. The Phoenix print is signed by Dave Cockram.

The top shelf should be familiar. The Doctor Who print above it is the Van Gogh exploding Tardis and underneath you can see my Archie digests.

One of the side bookcases.

The other side bookcase. The second and middle shelf hold the custom hardcover books I had made before the binder I liked went out of business.

The back wall with another complete Archie story.

Close-up of the small bookcase.

Top shelf.

Close up of the TV stand.

Bookcases behind the couch.

Star Trek and Batman glasses, along with the many sizes of R2-D2.

More glasses and the Adventure People safari play set. The Tardis pillow was made by Kat Price, one of my daughter’s friends.

More glasses and a few taters.

Did you know the DC Digests fit perfectly in an old CD crate?

The Moon Goddess is another by my friend Lee, and the Tardis was painted by my daughter.

A shelf over my kitchen table with a variety of odds-and-ends.

The Joker is another by Lee, and the two Batman pieces are by Bo Hampton.

Close-up of the Green Lantern cards on the shelf.

The view of the front room from the doorway. The comic boxes are starting to look rough, but that could be because some of them are approaching the big 3-0. I used to have almost 4 times as many, but over the years I’ve weeded them down and I’m about to go gardening again.

The view from the computer corner. On the wall above the TV is a complete 11-page Archie story.

Full shot of the left wall.

View from across the room from the computer desk.

And this completes the 360 sweep of the room.

Behind the computer desk: 13x19 prints of the Watchmen movie posters that recreated the original house ads for the comic., the first two sets of the “Ladies of the Legion” by Robert Ullman, and three fairy tale prints. Nearest the corner are a Death Print by GW Fisher and a Cinderella print by Chrissie Zullo. Beside those is a Thunderella print from Ashley Holt and an original Betty Cooper as Supergirl by Dan Parent. At the bottom of the photo you can see the hilt of a Xena sword letter opener.

Close up of the bookshelf by the door. You can see part of an Avengers dart board. The Death print is from my friend Lee Miller and the two prints to either side of it are NYX covers by Josh Middleton.

Closer shot of the top of the bookshelf with part of my HeroClix collection.

Bookshelf #1.

Wide shot of bookshelves # 2 & 3. I have about 30-40 of the large Marvel figures that I used to pick up from KB Toys. Once a month I swap one of them out so it always looks fresh. There’s also a missing Buffy DVD set, which is currently residing with my daughter.

Closer on #2.

The top of #2.

Closer on #3.

The top of #3, minus the TV.

My Alpha Flight figures and a view into the hall.

The Captain Marvel print is from Ashley Holt. The dancer as the TARDIS and Dalek is from my dance photography project, the Palmetto Pointe Project.

The black and white are all original pages and the color are prints.

The helicopter is obviously not from Star Wars, but I wanted to keep the vehicles together. It was part of the Adventure People toys from the 70s.

Supergirl print from Gene Gonzales and an original Supergirl.

Wall shelf in the hallway.

Original Tomb Raider as a cheerleader by Joe St. Pierre and Greg Adams and Nightwing/Starfire print by Kerry Gammill and Greg Adams.

Hallway book shelf.

Original pieces: Betty and Veronica by Chuck Wojtkiewicz and Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld by Dave Johnson.

Original pieces: Death by Dave Johnson and Kitty Pryde by Al Bigley.

Hallway from the front room.

Captain America and the New Warriors print by Colleen Doran and Greg Adams. Over my bedroom door is Xena’s Chakram and a Captain America night light.

View of my bedroom from the hall.

View from the other side of the room. Two complete 6-page Archie stories are hanging on that wall. The bunny on the nightstand was given to me on my first Easter, making it 45 year old.

Closer on the wall.

At one time, this corner was my “office”, where my computer sat. When I started rearranging, I decided everything still fit and didn’t change it. The comic art is from my friend’s Ashley Holt’s independent comic from the 80s. The Carolina Girls poster is one I did all the photography for. The pictures underneath are shots of my kids and me when we met those characters.

Art over the bed.

I have 50+ movie posters floating around. A friend once worked for an airline, and every couple of months he’d send me a care package with movie posters. Some were blockbusters and some were movies I’d never heard of.

Two of my favorite pieces of original art: Cloak & Dagger and a female Crow, both by Crow creator James O’Barr.

A now incomplete Superman actors college from Ashley Holt and an original Cloak & Dagger from Rick Leonardi.

Around my mirror.

The dresser.

A sampling of concerts I’ve shot and celebrities my kids and I have met. Among the celebrities met include Lou Ferrigno, Olivia Newton-John, Sasha Cohen, James Brown and Playboy centerfold Lauren Hill.

Behind the bedroom door, rarely seen.

The view of the hall from my room.

B-9 and a set of Shakespeare books.

Hall from my bedroom door. The 1887 costume designs are prints from Michael Dooney.

At the top of the stairs. The Firefly prints are by Megan Lara.

Down the stairs I have a series of movie posters. I do swap these out occasionally, but right now they’re all comic book related. And just because I like the poster art, it doesn’t mean I liked the movie. On one side, I have Ghost Rider, Iron Man and Spider-Man 2.

On the other side, I have the Green Hornet, Fantastic Four and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Ditto.

A view going up.
