Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power debuted last fall to critical acclaim. With Season 2 just around the corner, WonderCon 2019 brought the princesses, executive producer Noelle Stevenson, Aimee Carrero (Adora/She-Ra), AJ Michalka (Catra), Karen Fukuhara (Glimmer), Marcus Scribner (Bow), Lauren Ash (Scorpia) and Merit Leighton (Frosta) to the stage for a look into what’s to come.

AJ began the panel by saying, "Hey WonderCon" in her signature Catra voice.

Noelle talked about the awesome the reception to Season 1 has been. "That was a drawing that I did, and now it's real!"

"I have one dude write something negative about Scorpia, and people make fun of me how I look in real life, but with Scorpia I took it so personally!... and on Twitter all of my fans trashed this guy!" said Lauren Ash about the fans' love for her character.

"My favorite moment from season 1 was any time Bow got to say 'Best Friends Squad," said Marcus Scribner.

Merit's favorite moment was the fight dance: "I mean, the dip? Come on."

"Catra is in her head at the beginning of this season," says Noelle Stevenson before getting into an exclusive Season 2 clip. "The fight zone is under new management." Meanwhile, Adora is "in despair," said Aimee Carrero. She elaborated further with, "I think she finds it difficult to be responsible for a group of people, let alone responsible for herself. It's the most painful stretch of episodes Adora has as far as where she fits in in this world and what her mission is... adorture."

AJ repeated that Catra will be hitting rock bottom in Season 2. With Hordak, Noelle said, "we learn more about Hordak this season, and what he's like as a person. and we get to see inside his lab a little bit more... and there's a friendship that might happen."

About Glimmer and Frosta's friendship, Karen said, "Frosta just wants to be Glimmer's friend, and it takes [Glimmer] a while to warm up to Frosta's personality."

"How am I going to complete getting my best friend back?" said AJ about Catra's headspace in Season 2. "She really wants to defeat these princesses who have taken her best friend in her eyes."

"All she's looking for this season is answers," said Aimee about Adora's thinking in Season 2. Noelle added, "I think that's Adora's biggest fear -- I'm gonna mess this up and fail... she feels like she has to be perfect or everyone will die."

"In between there's all of these shades of grey... .. all of the characters have darkness in them," said Noelle.

Marcus emphatically stated, "Let's make it clear: Bow is a princess." Continuing, he said, "In Season 2 he's coming into his own as the techmaster of the rebellion. That's how he fits in as the moral support character... but on the inside, he's also conflicted." He's following in Entrapta's footsteps but he's figuring out where he belongs in the group.

"Swiftwind's confidence is key in motivating Adora and keeping her on track," said Noelle on the second exclusive clip.

"At the beginning of season 2 we don't realize where Entrapta is and we soon realize what she's actually doing and we go on a quest to look for her... and things do not go as planned," said Karen about Glimmer and Bow's relationship with Entrapta before the third clip played.

"Bow had this connection with Entrapta and to see she's responsible for the pain she caused the rebellion... she might not fully understand that but in her eyes, she's being supported in her work for the first time," said Noelle about how Entrapta and how her absence has affected the other characters.

The 80s throwback versions of the characters were seen in Bow's vision of the Rebellion's fight plan in the fourth clip. "It's always really fun for us to incorporate Easter eggs to the original show," said Noelle.

"Bow just wants his friends around him at all times," said Marcus about Bow's little DnD figurines of all his friends.

Scorpia just wants "so desperately" to impress Catra. Lauren said, "that's her main reason to be at this point. Her love is so pure and so real, and Catra feels it too, she just expresses it differently. This is an exciting time for Scorpia. She wants to be given responsibility, and she takes it seriously. She really takes [loyalty] to the next level."

"Brave, loyal, great hugs" is Scorpia's mantra, and Noelle said that Scorpia repeats that to herself in the episodes. The fifth clip was Scorpia-focused.

Karen talked about the proposal video between the Adora and Catra cosplayer. "A lot of heart emojis in that chat," said Noelle about the Instagram chat they're all in where they send each other She-Ra cosplay.

Shadow Weaver is in a hard spot this season since she's been deposed. "She needs to find a way to get back to a powerful state. She's lost her magic, she's lost everything... there's a lot of Shadow Weaver to come," teased Noelle.

The official Season 2 trailer premiered at the panel, which is now available for viewing online.

"It's important to us and you'll always see it on your screen," said Noelle about an LGBTQ representation/pronoun preference question from a fan, reiterating that she allows the show to speak for itself in that way.

About Adora's powers in Season 2, Aimee answered, "I will say that Adora's power comes from the sword and things happen to the sword and makes it difficult-- I've spoiled enough!" "She's learning how to control new She-Ra powers this season," said Noelle.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, starring Aimee Carrero, Karen Fukuhara, AJ Michalka, Marcus Scribner, Reshma Shetty, Lorraine Toussaint, Keston John, Lauren Ash, Christine Woods, Genesis Rodriguez, Jordan Fisher, Vella Lovell, Merit Leighton, Sandra Oh and Krystal Joy Brown, is now available on Netflix.
