The following contains spoilers for an upcoming episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law creator and head writer Jessica Gao recently suggested that Jennifer Walters' Marvel Cinematic Universe future is in movies, not TV.

Gao touched on She-Hulk's big screen potential while discussing an upcoming episode of the Disney+ series, during an appearance on the Hero Nation podcast. "One of the things that happens in She-Hulk is... there are all these things that are said, some of which are germane to her living in that world and these would be things that are said," she said. "But there's that scene outside the prison where she goes to see Abomination and the report's like 'we heard she's been rejected from the Avengers'... I would be shocked if [Marvel Studios] didn't start putting her in the movies, especially the group team-up movies."

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Mark Ruffalo supported Gao's position in a previous joint interview with co-star Tatiana Maslany, when he seemingly spoiled Jennifer Walters' impending Avengers membership. "[She-Hulk's] in now, there's not going to be another Avengers without her," he said. When Maslany expressed surprise at Ruffalo's remarks, he doubled down on them by insisting he was repeating information he'd previously heard from other, unnamed sources. Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm that Maslany will reprise the She-Hulk role in the next Avengers film, Kang Dynasty, or its sequel, Secret Wars, however.

She-Hulk's Role in the MCU: Phases Five and Six

In the event that She-Hulk does join the Avengers ranks at some point in either the MCU's fifth or sixth phases, Maslany is fairly certain she shouldn't be appointed team leader. The star recently argued that Jennifer Walters would be a bad choice to lead any of the superhero groups currently active in the MCU. "I was just thinking that I think she would really be terrible at [leading a superhero team]," she said. "Like there's a part of her that could definitely put people in their place, but she's also like self-deprecating in a way that I don't see her being like, 'Let's go!' You know what I mean?"

But even if she's not the one in charge, Avengers membership could still pave the way for She-Hulk to team up with Spider-Man, which hasn't happened yet because the web-slinger was off-limits to the series' writers. Gao previously revealed that Marvel Studios explicitly ruled out appearances by both Peter Parker and his wider supporting cast in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. She added that this was a major disappointment to those in the writers' room, as many of them are big Spider-Man fans.
