The following contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 8, "Ribbit and Rip It," now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law head writer Jessica Gao shared details about Daredevil's brief hallway fight scene in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

"We have to keep reminding people that this is Jen's show, this is She-Hulk's show," Gao said in an interview with Marvel.com about the bait-and-switch. "Everything in the show is like, how can we either subvert a trope or defy expectations or ground something in funny reality. That's kind of the ethos of the show. So of course, it was just natural for this show, being so meta, that we would acknowledge and tease the classic Daredevil hallway fight. But then, of course, we would have to undercut it with our girl, She-Hulk."

Episode 8, which gave She-Hulk viewers their long-awaited reintroduction to Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), teased Daredevil fans by setting up a hallway fight scene that became a staple of Daredevil during its initial run on Netflix. Before the Man Without Fear could fully begin taking out goons (not henchmen, there's a difference), Jen Walters (Tatiana Maslany) smashed through the ceiling and stopped the would-be fight. This scene is just one of many instances in which She-Hulk has trolled Daredevil fans eager to see Cox return as his Marvel character by reminding them whose show it is.

Daredevil Makes an Entrance

While some Daredevil fans may have been disappointed by the tease, this won't be the last audiences will see of Cox in the MCU. The actor is expected to once again return as Daredevil in Echo, alongside Hawkeye's Vincent D'Onofrio. Cox and D'Onofrio previously co-starred in Daredevil on Netflix before the series was canceled in 2018. The two actors will star in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, which has been given an 18-episode first-season order.

As for Cox's appearance in She-Hulk, the actor revealed in September that Marvel Studios' legal comedy series won't be setting up any major plot details in Born Again. Despite this, Cox has said he would love for She-Hulk's lead actor to make an appearance in his upcoming series. "People have been asking me who I want to see in the Daredevil show. Obviously, I have no idea what [Marvel's] thinking for that," Cox said. "It would be great if [Maslany] could come in for that, for a couple of episodes. I have no idea if that's a possibility or not, but it'd be fun."

The first eight episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are streaming now on Disney+, with the season finale set to release on Oct. 13.
