The following article contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 1, Episode 6, "Just Jen," now streaming on Disney+.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had its heroes criticized in their universe in many capacities. For example, the Sokovia Accords were a direct criticism of how the Avengers handled threats in relation to how well they protected innocents caught in the crossfire. In addition, the Hulk lived most of his life criticized over whether he's a hero or monster, while Spider-Man has been considered a menace for most of his superhero career. But even still, they couldn't hold a candle to the daily issues that Jennifer Walters faces in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Being a Hulk has considerable upsides that are exploited heavily in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. From super strength to no hangovers, Jennifer Walters' new abilities are more of a gift than a curse because she has endless possibilities at her disposal. That said, for every moment she tries to lift herself up, some people consistently try to bring her down. But even though she could handle any external threat that comes her way, there's one weakness she's yet to find a counter for, self-esteem.

She-Hulk Has Dealt With Different Levels of Criticism

She-Hulk Attorney At Law interview

Before she gained her powers in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Jennifer Walters was an ordinary attorney that was content with how she'd lived her life so far. However, after she got her powers, she came into the spotlight for great and terrible reasons. On the plus side, she's become an icon for women all over, as she's a literal representation of female strength and the promise that no matter what anyone says, women have the strength within them to handle anything. She's also gotten buzz about being an Avenger, making her even more of a hot commodity among the superhero fan community in the MCU.

But for every form of positive criticism, there's a fair share of negative comments as well. Some of the most obvious have come from internet trolls questioning her credentials and worthiness as a hero. Although, it could easily be argued that these criticisms are born from people who feel inadequate in their own skin and would rather project onto another than challenge their own feelings. She's also battled sexism in and out of the office, as many feel she isn't qualified to be a lawyer or hero for no other reason than her gender. But for all the negativity Jen has encountered in a short amount of time, including her name being stolen by Titania, she's managed to smash the competition rapidly.

Jennifer Walters' Greatest Weakness Is Tied to Her Self-Esteem

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law had Jen using jerks to win her case

The only hurdle that Jennifer hasn't quite figured out how to get over has been her own self-esteem issues. On the one hand, she's not ready to live life in the spotlight as She-Hulk. This was best shown when she tried to get out in the dating scene as Jennifer Walters. She quickly learned that many people on the dating app she used weren't interested in her normal self. But the moment she entered the scene as She-Hulk, she had an endless string of dates. However, one man who had spent the night with her woke up to Jennifer in her human form, and he almost immediately left because she "wasn't his type." It was a hard pill to swallow that affected Jennifer deeply, but not one she couldn't move past.

Since that event, Jen's grown even stronger and more comfortable with her new life in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and isn't as easily hurt by the opinions of shallow individuals. That said, the moment she grew more comfortable being She-Hulk, at a high school friend's wedding, she was struck down again and was forced to be Jen so she wouldn't steal the spotlight. Nevertheless, Jen quickly realized that she couldn't please everyone, and while self-esteem issues are something everyone must deal with, it's a weakness she won't let keep her down in the future.
