She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe series that will examine a brand new hero, Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany). As a super powered lawyer, the series will focus on how she has juggled the life of a hero and professional while also trying to live a fulfilling personal life, but that's easier said than done as it's confirmed that her longtime rival Titania (Jameela Jamil) will make an appearance, but why does Titania have such a strong grudge against She-Hulk?

In the comics, Titania's real name is Mary McPherran, and she lived most of her young adult life as a small young woman, especially compared to her much larger siblings. Tired of being considered weak, she jumped at the chance to gain powers and achieve fame and confidence. This came when Doctor Doom offered her the chance to achieve greatness during the Secret Wars. Thanks to experimental alien tech, Mary reemerged as Titania -- taller, stronger and with heightened confidence that often made her act more aggressive than ever before.

Because of her desire to prove herself, she crossed paths with She-Hulk; for the most part, the two were evenly matched as rivals. That said, Titania was often the loser in each battle, which fueled the fires of her rivalry. Over the years, and after many losses, Titania tried and failed to end their rivalry and no longer attack She-Hulk. However, when she gained the strength of the Power Stone, she finally gained a victory over She-Hulk, until Jennifer got the Power Stone as well and knocked her out with one punch.

In the new series, the origins of their feud haven't been addressed yet; however, it's possible that Titania was already pursuing fame, as the series is set in LA, and just as she was on the cusp of fame, She-Hulk appeared. With her thunder stolen, the only logical conclusion would be to gain strength of her own and exact vengeance on She-Hulk, but after her first defeat, the series may set up the next great rivalry in the MCU. However, through all of the punches, a new friendship may blossom as well.

Titania is She-Hulk's greatest rival in Marvel Comics

Recently, She-Hulk has been placed in a position to try and piece her life back together in the comics, but that never stopped Titania from trying to battle her enemy and best her in combat. In the end, rather than one side being beaten into submission, She-Hulk and Titania finally work out an understanding as sparring partners rather than rivals. Because of this, the two were finally able to understand one another and finally reap a friendship that had been sown in battle for years. While unlikely now, the Disney+ series could easily set a similar relationship up, turning a foe into a friend.

She-Hulk will likely have some of the strongest and strangest villains to ever appear in the MCU. That said, these characters could also come with amazing and hilarious stories. In the case of Titania, she could be one of the most persistent villains to battle any of the heroes, but with every punch, defeat and victory, an even more enduring friendship could be born sometime in the near future.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law arrives on Disney+ on Aug. 17.
