WARNING: The following contains spoilers from Empyre Fallout: Fantastic Four #1 by Dan Slott, Sean Izaakse, Marcio Menyz, and VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

In 2018, Earth's Mightiest Heroes assembled once again to take on the might of the Dark Celestials in the new Avengers series. This new iteration of the team included Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Thor, Black Panther, Ghost Rider and She-Hulk and, in the last two years, these seven superheroes have been to Hell and back together (literally). Yes, it's been one perilous adventure after another for the Avengers, and in-between all of that, a burgeoning romance slowly started to form between Thor and She-Hulk.

It started off as an attraction between God of Thunder and Jade Giant. Soon, the two superheroes kissed in the middle of battle, and this was followed by a date in the Savage Land, and a few awkward moments. But throughout all of that, She-Hulk and Thor have been growing closer and now, after several months of will they/won't they teases, it appears the two of them have finally become an official item.

In Empyre Fallout: Fantastic Four #1, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four pick up the pieces following the defeat of the Cotati. Now that the battle has been won, they take care of Quoi, they launch an investigation into the Cotati's mysterious and powerful weapons and, thanks to Emperor Hulkling, Ben Grimm and his wife adopt the Kree and Skrull children, Jo-Venn and N'Kalla.

For a brief moment, the heroes are victorious, and all is well that ends well. Iron Man and Captain America bid Reed Richards farewell, Hulkling lends his support to newly-christened father the Thing, Human Torch and Robbie Reyes exchange a fiery fist bump and Sue Richards approaches She-Hulk and Thor and asks "So? You two an item now?"

To which Thor answers, a little shy, "Verily."

With this simple exchange, Thor and She-Hulk have confirmed that they are now an official couple. This makes for an odd pairing to be sure, but one that totally makes sense. The attraction between the two has been palpable since day one of 2018's Avengers, so it's nice to see them finally take things to the next level after two years.

Together, She-Hulk and Thor make for a powerful couple -- after all, we've seen what happens when the two combine their powers in battle -- which means their love story should be as explosive as they are. But how long will it last? Let's not forget that Marvel has a history of pitting the Hulk and Thor against one another in a show of pure, brute strength. With the tempers and egos of both characters involved, the two will undoubtedly end up having a dispute or two.

Let's just hope there aren't too many people around Avengers Mountain when that happens.
