While it will be some time before the Merc With A Mouth arrives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Tatiana Maslany shared an idea regarding a crossover with Deadpool.During an interview with Kevin McCarthy, Maslany was asked if she could imagine both characters talking to the audience in a scene. "Yeah, here's, like, a very meta thing," Maslany answered. "Deadpool's from Regina, Saskatchewan. Right, isn't he? Which is where I am from. So, like, this was a meant-to-be situation. I think we should both be in Regina, but I'm Tat in Regina, and Deadpool is Deadpool, but then it's Ryan Reynolds, and it's She-Hulk, and we get really freaky with it."RELATED: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Reviews Are In, and the Verdict Finds In Favor of the MCU

Before the interview, Maslany joked that Deadpool had copied She-Hulk's ability to break the fourth wall, something the latter character had been doing since her 1989 series, The Sensational She-Hulk. Maslany also discussed her thoughts on this aspect of the Jade Giantess, noting, "[Jennifer Walters'] consciousness stays the same [when she turns into She-Hulk], and she's aware of the audience. That feels like it's her superpower engaged with the meta element of the [show]. It's like an extension of her superpower, she's like, 'I know I'm, talking to a camera. I know you guys are watching this.' And there's something about that super hyper-awareness that is [a part of] who she is."

Of course, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law won't break the fourth wall too much, as head writer Jessica Gao revealed that she had to be restrained in that regard. "It was tricky finding the balance because if I had my way, she'd be breaking the fourth wall every other sentence," recalled Gao. "Everybody had to pull me back a little bit more from it." Additionally, director Kat Coiro teased that She-Hulk may interact with something on the fourth wall's other side. Another report from last year claimed that She-Hulk would talk to Marvel Studios President and Marvel CCO Kevin Feige.

Beyond the character's ability to interact with the audience, an interesting description of She-Hulk came from Maslany herself last month, who described the new MCU hero as "the antithesis of most superhero narratives." She went on to say, "There's this great element of denial in her that's relatable. For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk."
