The following contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 5, "Mean, Green, and Straight Poured into These Jeans," now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law just revealed where Daredevil's new Marvel Cinematic Universe costume comes from.

The origin of the Man Without Fear's red-and-yellow threads comes courtesy of She-Hulk Episode 5, "Mean, Green, and Straight Poured into These Jeans." In the episode, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) meets with Luke Jacobson (Griffin Matthews), a fashion designer whose specialty is superhero couture. Jacobson supplies Walters with business wear tailored to She-Hulk's towering frame -- and is strongly implied to have thrown in a crime-fighting outfit, as well. As Walters tries on her new clothes, Jacobson places a hat box containing Daredevil's yellow helmet next to a rack displaying the rest of the vigilante's new outfit, confirming that he's the person responsible for manufacturing it.

Fans first saw Daredevil's revamped look in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022. The costume's red-and-yellow color scheme marks a departure from the red-and-black outfits actor Charlie Cox previously wore on the Netflix Daredevil series, seemingly taking inspiration from Bill Everett's original comic book designs, instead. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law creator and head writer Jessica Gao previously confirmed that this was Marvel Studio's decision, not hers. "The one thing [about Daredevil] that I didn’t have control of was the suit," said Gao. "They knew exactly what they wanted the suit to look like."

She-Hulk Introduces a Different Daredevil to the MCU

Daredevil's costume isn't the only thing that's different about the Man Without Fear in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, either. Cox explained in a recent interview that he changed his approach to playing Matt Murdock to suit the more light-hearted tone of the show. "I had to adapt a little bit my Matt Murdock, so that he was in a place in his life where he's having fun and life is good and he's a bit cheeky and a bit flirty, and it's just, tonally, slightly different," he said. "And it was a bit of an experiment, but it was really enjoyable and I really had a good time."

Cox also recently addressed the connection between She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, confirming that the former won't lead directly into the latter.
