Playing one of main antagonist roles on the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series on Disney+, actor Jameela Jamil is pushing back on fans' criticism about her Titania costume design.Jamil took to Twitter to respond to the fan backlash after the first still photo of Titania on She-Hulk was released. While the costume and Jamil's orange hair take some inspiration from the character's original design, it replaces the purple leotard with a flashy, Beyonce-style bodysuit. Jamil posted a video in her makeup trailer with her hair stylist as she plays to the camera and posted the following caption: "Omg this photo," Jamil said. "Guys... I accept every ounce of shade here, but in defense of my excellent hair stylist, this is just my hair after a 14 hour stunt day in Atlanta heat. Just after being upside down. She did a *great* job on the show I promise. I love her. Boobs look ok tho?" One Twitter user slammed the show's costume department over Titania's new design, but Jamil was quick to shut them. "You'll get it when the show comes out. It fits the character," Jamil said.RELATED: She-Hulk Star Tatiana Maslany Shares an Interesting Interpretation of Her MCU Hero

Titania Controversy

This was not the first time the supervillain's look for the show was a source of controversy. When Jamil posted a picture of herself wearing an orange wig as Titania, she had to let fans know it was not for the upcoming Marvel show. "This highly flammable, 18 dollar wig off the internet is not for Marvel! Glad you liked it though," Jamil said. She did not say why she wore the wig or why she posted it to begin with.

Created by Jim Shooter, Mary MacPherran/Titania made her Marvel Comics debut in Secret Wars #3 (July 1984). As a young girl, Mary was the target of bullying due to her scrawny physique and short height. She wished to have superpowers to fight back against the bullies. She and her friend Marsha Rosenberg are taken under the wing of Doctor Doom, granting them super strength and becoming the supervillains Titania and Volcana. Titania would become a regular rival of She-Hulk and eventually became more of an anti-hero in later years.
