Viewers of Marvel's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law have taken to social media to commend the show's visual effects.

A She-Hulk episode discussion thread on Reddit garnered thousands of mostly positive responses, some of which focused on praising the show's immersive CGI. Many fans opined that they saw a "massive improvement" in the visual effects of the finished product over that shown in the original trailer, with one saying the effects were "the best in Phase 4." Comments thanking the "overworked VFX artists" for their dedication also appeared, with particular praise directed toward their work on the beach brawl scene between Hulk and She-Hulk.

Aside from the visual effects, fans also praised the show's casting of Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk and her glowing on-screen chemistry with co-star Mark Ruffalo, who reprises his longtime role as Hulk. Many viewers are also looking forward to the apparent "World War Hulk" storyline the show is setting up.

She-Hulk's visual effects have been a hot topic since the show's first trailer debuted in May. Some criticized the facial features, unnatural skin and poor lighting of Maslany's She-Hulk, and said the effects were unrealistic compared with other Marvel Cinematic Universe offerings. The backlash prompted the studio to release an updated She-Hulk trailer which revised the CGI to make Maslany appear bulkier and add more definition to her rendered model.

While fans responded positively to the changes, She-Hulk director Kat Coiro said previously that the debate over the visual effects was a lose-lose situation and that it symbolized the way modern society thinks it has "ownership of women's bodies" and can "tear apart the CGI woman." The show's head writer Jessica Gao has also commented on the backlash, explaining that Marvel's VFX staff are chronically overworked and must spread their efforts over various projects, which may explain sub-par CGI in trailers and previews.

Critics have responded warmly to She-Hulk, with some dubbing it Marvel's best television outing yet. CBR's review called the show "Marvel's first true comedy" and complimented the show's "superb way" of spotlighting women's issues by not reducing the main character to just a female Hulk and nothing more.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a comedic legal drama that sees lawyer Jennifer Walters inadvertently turned into She-Hulk after an accident involving her cousin Bruce Banner / Hulk. As she attempts to come to terms with her new, green-hued alter ego, Walters returns to work and begins specializing in cases involving superhumans.

The first episode of She-Hulk is available to stream now on Disney+. New episodes will release each Thursday.
