The following contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 9, "Whose Show Is This?," now streaming on Disney+.

Pieces of concept art for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law have revealed some early designs for K.E.V.I.N., the robotic artificial intelligence in charge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Senior concept artist Jeff Simpson shared the illustrations on his Twitter account, showing four alternate takes for how K.E.V.I.N. could have looked in the She-Hulk finale. Simpson, who previously worked for Marvel Studios on Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, offered some insight into the designs, revealing that he took a retro approach to K.E.V.I.N. "Akira/brain style, some retro ones, was shooting out ideas see what gets a reaction from leads and directors. I liked the 80s computer one, retro sci fi is always more interesting to me than iPod stuff," he explained. Despite the variation in styles, the one constant that remained throughout all the K.E.V.I.N. concept art was the baseball cap, which is considered by many fans to be part of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige's signature look.

K.E.V.I.N. was introduced in the ninth and final episode of the Disney+ series' first season, "Whose Show Is This?," which saw She-Hulk break through the fourth wall to confront whoever was in charge of writing her messy finale. After chatting with the She-Hulk writers' room, the Jade Giantess was directed to talk to "Kevin," who was revealed to be an AI known by the acronym K.E.V.I.N. (Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus) and not the Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

George Clooney Could Have Played K.E.V.I.N.

While a voice actor was hired to portray K.E.V.I.N., She-Hulk head writer Jessica Gao has revealed that the writers toyed with casting a George Clooney-like actor in the role. Before settling on the robotic AI version of K.E.V.I.N., Gao said the writers joked that they should "stunt cast it with like George Clooney or Jon Hamm, a very handsome debonair man in a tuxedo. K.E.V.I.N. is essentially this James Bond-type man in a tux."

Considering how instrumental Kevin Feige reportedly was in scripting the She-Hulk finale, it is only fitting that K.E.V.I.N. also plays a crucial role in rewriting the episode's crowded third act. Gao explained how she tried to give She-Hulk "the classic Marvel ending" but that "it never felt right because I was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole." She has stated that Feige was the one who "really opened my mind to the idea that it's OK to not do that because I was trying to do what I thought was the Marvel expectation of what the show had to be."

She continued, "He was like, 'Why? No one's telling you to do that, you don't have to do that, you can do something completely different, we should be doing something completely different because this show is so different from anything that Marvel has done.' It was getting that permission from him that really made me think, 'Oh.' It just changed everything."
