The following contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 8, "Ribbit and Rip It," now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has revealed that the Sokovia Accords were officially repealed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

The Disney+ series' eighth episode, "Ribbit and Rip It," featured a passing mention of the Accords from none other than Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, who stated that they had been repealed. Introduced in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War, the Sokovia Accords were a set of legal documents which required "enhanced individuals" to register and comply with the guidelines and regulations set by the United Nations. The Accords were responsible for dividing the Avengers, leading to the film's epic third-act confrontation between Captain America and Iron Man.

Series head writer Jessica Gao had previously mentioned that She-Hulk would address the fate of the Accords, whose presence has been largely absent from recent Marvel Studios productions. Despite being presented as a major change in the MCU, very few projects have acknowledged the Accords, with only the Disney+ series WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier mentioning them in the franchise's post-Endgame timeline. The 2021 film Black Widow also referenced the Accords, but that film was set closely after Civil War. With the Accords gone, superheroes like Daredevil, Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel will be able to continue fighting crime without having to expose their secret identity to government officials.

Will She-Hulk's Main Antagonist Please Stand Up

Unlike previous Marvel Disney+ series, She-Hulk has not had a clear series antagonist, instead opting to introduce three potential big baddies: Titania, Emil Blonsky/Abomination and HulkKing. Some fans are convinced Blonsky is still a villain and is just acting like he is reformed, pointing out background details at his retreat that back up their claim. Others believe the faceless HulkKing is the series' overarching villain, especially after Episode 7 revealed She-Hulk's one-time crush Josh was working for the Intelligencia leader. Many fans have also refused to dismiss Titania, believing her rivalry with She-Hulk will explode in the season finale. At this time, these fan theories remain nothing more than speculation.

Following his guest appearance in She-Hulk Episode 8, Cox is expected to reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Hawkeye spinoff series Echo before headlining Daredevil: Born Again, an upcoming Disney+ series that will serve as a spiritual successor to Netflix's Daredevil series. The first season will consist of 18 episodes with production scheduled to start in 2023. Joining Cox in Born Again is Vincent D’Onofrio, who will be reprising his MCU role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Daredevil star Elden Henson has also been rumored to be returning as Matt Murdock's friend and colleague Foggy Nelson in the upcoming continuation.

The first eight episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now streaming on Disney+, with the season finale set to release on Oct. 13.
